you know what he’s been up to since when
we first published this video back in
2011 Drake had graduated from Degrassi
high and even got into the music game
since then the rapper founded his own
record label and has established himself
as one of the biggest rappers in the biz
so enjoy this look at his early life and
career and be sure to stick around for
the update at the end Lil Wayne was his
mentor and now he has come into his own
as a solo artist welcome to
watchmojo.com and today we’re taking a
look at the musical origins of Drake Sam
as I said when they wear it out he’s
getting hot crack window hair down
Aubree Drake Graham otherwise known as
Drake was born on October 24 1986 in
Toronto Ontario he began acting in high
school and his first major role was
playing Jimmy Brooks on the Canadian
television series Degrassi the next
generation you might want to watch for
you’re going loser much were year going
Neanderthal would you just say however
he had always been attracted to music so
in 2006 Drake released his first mixtape
room for improvement
via MySpace and his website he followed
that up with a second mixtapes
comeback season which produced the
single replacement girl with Trey Songz
would you really spend when I stood
through Sam two or three days I shut you
down chillin with the homie Trey Songz
you call Hannah Prince here and – uh –
damn it was accompanied by a music video
the made Drake the first unsigned
Canadian rapper to be featured on the
television channel B et he began working
with rapper Lil Wayne and eventually
released mixtape number three so far
gone in 2007 it spawned two popular
singles best I ever had and successful
which started a bidding war between
several labels who wanted to get Drake
on their rosters he eventually signed a
record contract with Lil Wayne’s Young
Money Entertainment and released the so
far gone EP which debuted in the top ten
of the Billboard 200 and also won him a
2010
you know award after playing show dates
with artists such as Lil Wayne Soulja
Boy & Young Jeezy as part of the
America’s Most Wanted tour Drake

me later with guest appearances by
Alicia Keys jay-z and T I was released
in June 2010 the record debuted on the
top spot of the Billboard 200 chart
thanks to singles such as over and

I love myself cuz that’s where their
life is just not as fun Drake also
continued to act for instance he
appeared in the 2007 movie Charlie
Bartlett acted in the short film
Mookie’s law and voiced a role in the
2011 video game Gears of War 3

more artists and takes on more acting
roles it is clear that Drake’s career is
on the rise and at this rate it is sure
to keep on going

took home the Grammy Award for Best Rap
Album at the 55th annual Grammy Awards
for take care some other guys I even
gave him a chance to decide as although
it doesn’t look like he took care of the
Grammy itself not one to rest on his
laurels Drake officially formed his own
record label ovo sound in 2012 with
longtime friends Noah 40 Shebib and
Oliver El Khatib after selling ovo
merchandise and shouting it out since
his early mixtapes ovo sound signed a
