Discover The Northern Constellation of Cygnus

this constellation can be represented as
a wide wing long neck bird in graceful
flight hi I’m Veronica the watchmojo.com
and today we’re taking a look at the
constellation of Cygnus Cygnus is a
northern constellation that’s visible in
the summer it sits along the Milky Way
in fact the stars of Cygnus are in the
foreground and that glowing band of
cloud is light-years away behind but
it’s all part of our galaxy what are the
stars that make up this constellation
the brightest star in Cygnus is called
Deneb then AB is about 1600 light years
away if it was as bright as the Sun we
wouldn’t see it at all but it shines
60,000 times brighter than the Sun which
is why we can see it at all it’s one of
the 3 stars that formed the summer
triangle it’s three bright stars in the
summer it’s low in the east
right after dark in the winter it’s low
in the West right after dark you can’t
look for a small triangle this is a huge
triangle and it takes up almost half of
the sky in the West
Cygnus is also known as the northern
cross why is that because it kind of
looks like a cross a swan has a long
neck the neck of the Swan is actually
the base of the cross and the wings
spreading out are the arms of the cross
and then Deneb the tail of the Swan is
actually right at the top of the cross
how can you locate Cygnus in the sky
best way is really to locate the summer
triangle the star that’s farthest above
the horizon is Dennett that’s the tail
of the Swan and from there it shouldn’t
be too hard to find the body of this one
thank you very much you’re very welcome
