diamonds events great fundraiser for one
good cause raising money for cancer so
what Deborah bridgeman she is behind the
scenes of the Hopi co foundation the
organizer one of the organizers of this
event so first of all why is this the
denim and diamonds event well
everybody’s wearing their denim and
diamonds we have we have one of our
sponsors that is Burks for the for the
dent for the diamonds and we have 3g and
sponsors for the denim this year tell me
what exactly this hope and coke do
exactly open coba is an organization
that helps cancer patients go through
the cancer experience and their families
we have many support groups so how much
you have to raise the furthest from this
evening while we’re hoping to raise a
over 360,000 yeah which is well needed
by the way is amazing Mary wellness and
so could you give me a little rundown of
what’s going to be taking place this
whole evening all the different foods
that have been laid out yummy yeah very
yummy we have a silent auction that has
we have 19 different items that are
really going really really going like
hotcakes what about the dancing in the
whole party in the katharine mcphee in
the celebrities and the cocky player
isn’t it it’s all happening the hockey
the sack of coil is here katharine
mcphee the Dancing’s going on it’s a
club it’s a nightclub we have different
rooms going on there’s a lounge area
here it’s a little bit more quiet I also
hear that you yourself are volunteer
dope and coke but you’re also helped by
hoping cope as well yeah 13 years ago I
was diagnosed with breast cancer and
from that day on I was I was helped by
one of a one of the volunteers from hope
and cope and from that day on I realized
that that what they did to me I wanted
to do the same thing and I’ve been doing
it ever since how has it changed you has
a person well I’ve literally taking
taken something very negative and turned
it into something positive and
and I I try to encourage that in other
patients that are going through it not
everybody has the same outlook it’s very
hard it’s very devastating but i feel
that turning it into a positive a
positive thing has as its changed my
life it’s helped my kids it’s helped my
family it’s helped my friends everybody
is encouraged by this because they see
that I’m encouraging others and so now
it is like more beautiful do not take
things for granted like what glasses are
you wearing huh they’re actually I’m not
wearing glasses i’m seeing lie for what
it really is and it’s a beautiful life i
love my life every single day i wake up
i love life and i’m not just saying that
I appreciate everything and I try and
push that on to other people like enjoy
the moment enjoy the moment I couldn’t
say it any better enjoy the moment
