Change: When art takes action

socially acceptable terrorist action or
the 80s a is a group celebrating their
10th anniversary with change hi I’m
Rebecca Brayton and welcome to
watchmojo.com and today we’ll be seeing
the result of art taking action the 80s
a is been described as an art and social
activity group why did you choose to get
your point across through art well
actually we’re artists at first you know
like I was a dancer and share was our
director in cinema and a visual artist
as well but then there are 15 years of
creation when we heard that a refuge in
Montreal for homeless man was needing a
hundred and six pair of socks and that
the Canadian banks were making billions
of profits it generated this kind of
aggressive attea and it’s a way to take
it out
what would you say is the ultimate goal
of the 80s a to stimulate people to to
be part of it and to give kind of a
desire to change how do you know when
you’ve achieved that goal when people
talk to us and say thank you because you
know it gave me the the kick to compost
or a to recycle or to sell my car with
state of emergency which is our big
refugee camp in two thousand 04 we were
60 volunteers we’re almost 400 now you
want to just explain the citizen ticket
project we reduced 10,000 numerated
tickets and 350 volunteers I went in the
streets and gave ticket to huge cars so
some people went to the municipal court
to pay it heard the police station and
it it went really big in the media it
was saying your individual choice as a
consumer is affecting my life art is
also a tool to generate the discussion
