hey welcome to watchmojo.com i’m your
host medicine today we’re going to
continue with our little soap talk into
a little reminiscing now since soap
start airing on television many have
come and gone and we all know the saying
that all good things must come to an end
and in the soap role it’s no different
despite the legions of fans who tuned in
loyally each day but why you soaps get
canceled well maybe it’s because of low
ratings or some backstage politics but
whatever the reason is it’s never good
enough for the loyal viewers so let’s
take a look at our three soaps our first
canceled soap is Ryan’s Hope it take you
on ABC in July of 1975 and revolved
around the core family of the right who
owned the tavern in New York City from
across Riverside Hospital another core
family that the stories revolved around
with the Coleridge’s as well as the
popular characters of Delia babri during
its first year the soap was at the
bottom of the ratings but during the
second year they skyrocketed and they
actually took home the emmy for best
daytime drama but the soap went through
many had writing changes and with that
can use storylines that fans weren’t
used to and i’m assuming some fans chose
to forget some of these storylines
including the one where an ape named
prince albert tried to kidnap Delia yeah
till I thought now despite all this the
soap actually continue to do well in
ratings and continue to collect several
more Emmys but in the end after all the
head writing changes the soap was done
in by a timeslot change and ABC canceled
the soap in 1988
