if you’re curious to get behind the
scenes of an f1 race here’s your chance
hi I’m Miranda light stone with
watchmojo.com and today we’re learning
about the types of jobs available in f1
that don’t involve driving basically I’m
the chief engineer of the of the team it
means that I’m looking after the
engineering side of the operations at
the track from setting the car up to
looking after a race strategy during a
race weekend I’m a PR officer for
Vodafone McLaren Mercedes since this
year I’ve been in Formula One for the
last 11 years it’s preparation for Grand
Prix’s and Grand Prix weekends you’re in
the week should you prepare your weekend
with all the interviews PR briefing with
means what to say about specific issues
after that you just get on with the job
you know all you have been pre planning
just make sure it happens and make sure
TVs behave and make everybody happy
hopefully we work both on some you know
financial aspect legal aspect and
business development also managing our
current portfolio of partners throughout
the world because basically we have 19
races of the five different continents
and how exactly did you get into it I
got graduated in mechanical engineering
in Paris a few years ago now got into
mine what we call minor formulas or you
know formula 3 what is called now GP 2
etc until I got the opportunity to got
into Formula 1 in 2 year engine
engineering and then after at some stage
III switched to as a engineering I am
working now I started working in Formula
1 back in the early 90s when I graduated
from business school in France and I
entered and worked for Renault Formula
One after I started working in 1998 for
a Japan Tobacco International the title
sponsor of the Benetton team very soon
Renault and stay down there until 2007
before I turned 4 in 2008 where I am
responsible for the sponsoring
department of Ferrari I first started
with our
and team called Minardi which is now
called Toro Rosso changed and I was 11
years at Williams and then this year
switch to vote for McLaren Mercedes I
must say I will enjoy my job being PA
officer means being the link between the
team members like drivers or senior team
members and the media which means if
you’d like to come and interview our
drivers Lewis Hamilton and Jensen Batson
you would first have to come to me I’ve
been working there for four ten years
