jr was born August fourth 1961 he’s a
u.s. senator from Illinois who was born
in Honolulu and raised in Jakarta Hawaii
in canvas mostly by his mom and
grandparents he graduated from Columbia
University and received his law degree
from Harvard Law where he graduated
magna laude he also became the first
african-american president of the
Harvard Law Review he also worked as a
civil rights lawyer and as a community
organizer in New York in Chicago Obama
was elected to the Illinois State Center
in 1997 where he served as chairman of
the Public Health and Welfare Committee
he’s the first african-american man from
the Democratic Party to be elected to
the US Senate and he received
international media coverage for his
keynote address at the 2004 Democratic
National Convention sworn into office
January fourth 2005 he’s focused on
economic growth and bringing good-paying
jobs to Illinois and fans in a senator
are already crunching the numbers by
2012 he could have eight years in the
Senate under his belt and by 2016 he’ll
be 54 a good age to be President
