with this blend of aerial arts Pilates
and yoga you’re guaranteed a full body
workout hi I’m Veronica with
watchmojo.com and today we’re taking a
look at antigravity yoga so what exactly
is antigravity yoga
antigrav yoga’s a mix of Pilates dance
and yoga a little bit of gymnastics in
there too all being kind of like a slow
and steady workout however we do a core
workout in there we do a lot of
lengthening and strengthening and it
kind of realizes the whole body from
head to toe now not having gravity work
against you does this make it an easier
hard at work out I feel that it probably
facilitates the yoga aspect because our
weight is always about 50% in the
hammock so you’re always using the
hammock at tension so there’s always
weight you’re always constantly fighting
and pushing down into the hammock so
kind of alleviates let’s say your body
weight if you’ve had an ankle injury or
something because your weight is half in
the hammock it kind of helps you support
your body who this class specifically
for I have so many different age groups
in my classes I have so many various
sizes that and everybody’s capable to do
most of the class some of the class to
some extent I always repeat to the class
monitor your own resistance take your
time if you’re a newbie and that
something is a little bit wonky or
you’re not sure about a move
take a step back watch it and then jump
back in when you feel okay so I really
feel that it can is a fantastic overall
workout for for everybody how does the
class progress we would start with like
in yoga Sun Salutation a good warm-up
cat dog stretch or cat cow we start
working the hamstrings the spine a
little bit and then we get into our
first inversion is called the monkey
hang upside down let the weight of the
head elongate your spine we meditate
there for a little bit and then we
progress into core workout into
strengthening
and then we do some flips and other
inversion so it’s it’s nice it’s not
just yoga that’s what’s fun about it is
there any way to avoid injuries during
the class the main main thing that us as
certified trainers instructors you have
to think of is proper cueing I have
total faith that everybody in my class
is fully capable of doing everything
with Si hammock hemic holds up 2,000
pounds so and with proper cueing proper
instructions as long as everybody
listens and us as instructors we have a
proper watchful eye 12 our students well
thank you very much it’s okay having you
thank you it was my pleasure
