All Time Low discuss ‘Don’t Panic,’ ‘Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy’

this Baltimore 4 piece is quick to say
don’t panic welcome to watchmojo.com and
today we’re speaking with Alex and Jack
from all-time low to learn more about
the band’s evolution and how the
Hitchhiker’s Guide to the galaxy
influenced their latest album
how do you guys perceive your evolution
from album to album you know I think
with each record we’ve discovered a bit
more of who we are and what this band is
I think that’s the reason there’s always
like a weird outlier on every record um
you know it’s just us experimenting and
us kind of feeling our way through
things but I think that’s the way music
should be is it’s a learning process and
it’s an experience so you know I think I
think we’ve always grown I think we’re
always developing her sound and maturing
but with that in mind the last record
was definitely also a bit of a return to
form in a sense so you know I think we
just with the newest record we just
executed better than we would have in
the past
every Hitchhiker’s Guide influence this
record yeah well the title not not the
song content but the title don’t panic
is obviously a big slogan and checkers
guide but in that regard it was really
just about admitting the fact that like
a lot of things are out of your control
and you just kind of have to roll with
it which is that big is the overall
sentiment of the book
I read that you said like one way to
interpret it is we only have so long so
let’s have one less for our something
like that yeah absolutely it’s it’s make
the most of making the most of it like
that if you had 24 hours live what would
you do
24 hours man I don’t know I’d probably
eat a lot of spaghetti bolognaise drink
a drink a buttload of red wine and yeah
maybe try the pink right now tell us
about for Baltimore a bit about the song
in the video um the song is obviously
about our hometown it’s about kind of
falling in love in your hometown and
with your hometown at the same time it
was really just we always like to show
love for you know where we grew up in
the city that made us who we are when
rappers shout out the hometown yeah
