All-Natural, All-Beautiful Hand-Made Soap

everyone loves the skincare line that
leaves you feeling like you’re at the
spa hi I’m Rebecca Brayton and welcome
to watchmojo.com and today we’re looking
at a line that’ll leave you smelling
yummy and feeling great because it’s
eco-friendly your products are
all-natural from the production stage to
the packaging can you tell us what that
involves it is very difficult and it
does take a lot of research so a lot of
it involves calling different suppliers
and finding out what their specialty is
and a lot of people will tell you right
off the bat our shea butter comes
straight from Africa it’s unrefined our
cocoa butter comes from Africa do your
research on the ingredients and figure
out what works with what and do your
best and where did you get all the
recipes for your products I started out
using just library books and basic soap
making manuals but it’s a lot like
cooking you can tweak your ingredients
tweak your percentages and what kind of
ingredients do you use I do try to make
everything so that it’s suitable for
sensitive skin and I also make
everything so that it won’t dry out your
skin no matter what the type for the
soap the main ingredients are olive oil
coconut oil and shea butter for the body
butters its shea butter coconut oil and
vitamin E this is the plum blossom and
silk soap and it’s really nice if you
have really rough skin the silk and it
actually does smooth out at the surface
of your skin the avocado and aloe soap
is really really nice for people who
have a very dry skin very sensitive skin
and especially eczema it’s made with a
full liter of aloe vera juice and a
whole lot of fresh avocados also the
Satsuma guava soap is excellent for
people with oily skin the bits that you
see in there that are slightly pink and
slightly green are separate batches of
soap that I’ve made with French pink
clay and French green clay so those dry
with the extra oils from your skin and
Satsuma is a citrus fruits not tones
your skin also the
hemp soap is really really nice for
people who have combination skin the
patchouli oil kind of regulates that and
evens out your skin tone the lavender
soap is great for people who are really
stressed out and just need to relax it’s
really nice for people with depression
or anxiety or anything else where they
just need to calm down a little bit what
are some challenges that you have to
deal with when producing eco-friendly
products right now I don’t make any
creams that have water in them because I
haven’t found a preservative that is as
effective as parabens against bacteria
and as soon as you combine oil with
water it’s like a salad dressing it’s
gonna go bad and when did you first
decide to start producing all-natural
products there were kind of two factors
that came into play at the same time the
first was that I’d always loved handmade
soaps and nice fragrances but I had
really terrible eczema so I could never
use them and the second factor was that
at the time I was working as a stained
glass artist it was starting to bother
me that the only people who could afford
my pieces were people in the upper
echelon income-wise
and I really wanted to try to make art
in some form or another that everybody
could afford thank you very much you’re
welcome
