you think about subaru most people think
about vehicles like outback the forest

Subaru BRZ unique and different is that
it specifically been built to be a
classic sports car in the truest sense
of the word it was built do one thing
only provide driving pleasure so you
take a look at this vehicle the first
thing that strikes you is the styling
our vehicles usually have more of a
functional look to them this one very
stylish low to the ground it gives you
that real impression of this being a
great handling cart and it is because
it’s not just low in terms of design but
the actual weight of the vehicle is
positioned very low a low center gravity
when you get into this car you sit down
the seat it provides high bolstering
hold you in the seat steering wheel just
over 14 inches in diameter so it’s a
small steering wheel type quick response
so when you drive this vehicle you
really feel like it’s a true sports car
and a classic sense tell us more about
the engine the engine is a true subaru
engine it’s a boxer engine but it’s been
designed specifically for this
application boxer engines are no one to
have a low center of gravity but this
one is even flatter than our traditional
boxer engine and it’s positioned much
lower in the chassis and closer towards
the center of the vehicle to give the
vehicle a really good sense of balance
although it’s a naturally aspirated
engine it produces 200 horsepower so
there’s a lot of power in here
especially since the vehicle is
lightweight tell us about some of the
design elements inside and out the
designers really thinking about one
thing only that is a classic sports car
keep the low to the ground provide wheel
fender arches to show that this vehicle
is all about handling
and power aerodynamics are really key to
this vehicle inside we’ve got toggle
switches in there which gives you a
sense of classic sports car in there but
it also has 2+2 seating so you have the
ability to take more than two people
around if you wanted to the back seats
fold down and so provides a surprising
amount of utility who would you say are
this cars biggest competitors on the
road it’s interesting you ask that
question because we’ve been folding
focus group sessions we ask people to
talk to us about sports cars what they
meant to them clearly they saw sports
cars in two types you have the North
American muscle car type vehicles you
know it’s all about size and brute
strength and straight-line acceleration
then you had more of the classic a
European sense of a sports car which is
more about styling and handling and
finesse and that’s the type of feeling
