most folks with the only good snakes the
dead snake attitude will probably state
that snakes serve no purpose in our
ecosystem so they killed them but people
like me will note that is not true and
that snake serve a very important role
in our ecosystem I was first inspired to
do this topic because of my passion
toward snakes I love them I think that
they are beautiful animals
I myself have history with snakes when I
was younger I was scared of snakes I
thought that they would eat me but as I
got got older I developed an interest in
snakes so I started doing research I was
learning more and more about them every
day one day my dad thought it’d be a
good idea it’s taken to a reptile show
so we went there there were hundreds of
reptiles I was fascinated eventually we
came across a lady at the reptile show
sewing a ball python and a couple of
other snakes I asked him if I can get
one he said if I saved up my allowance I
can get a ball python it took a little
while but it was worth it my dad also
got one too
ever since then I’ve been doing more and
more research than ever I was
researching size habitats behavior and I
was researching in books articles
whatever I could find and I came across
something about people killing snakes
because they don’t do anything for our
environment I knew that this was not
true let me start off by saying this
rats right raise your hand if you like
snakes better than rats rats are small
little rodents that can reproduce very
quickly and that’s a problem because it
can cause overpopulation and that’s
where the snakes come in the snakes
control the rat population if if the
rats overpopulate they can destroy crops
and spread diseases biologists are
reintroducing writings snakes to some
villages in an effort to protect
harvested grains you may be thinking
don’t snakes kill like a million people
per year actually that’s
true around 60 people per year are
killed by venomous animals of those 60
most people are killed so compared to
other animals that’s not that bad
most people are hurt when they try to
handle or kill venomous snakes so if the
snakes are gone from us killing them the
rats will over populate and nobody want
to stop besides the rats it’s fine if
you don’t like snakes but please next
time you see one don’t kill it think about what they do for our ecosystem
