Great Expectations – A Choral Reading | Bahia Rozan & Dorotea Bartlett | TEDxYouth@EB

[Music]
when we think about our future selves we
think about who we are and who we want
to be people have this image but who
they think we are the perfect student
confident the perfect daughter brave
perfect but we think of ourselves
differently ugly I stutter imperfect I’m
self-conscious stupid flawed but you are
beautiful even though you’re not perfect
it’s okay we are human we set goals for
ourselves straight A’s
good older sister to eat more healthy to
do well on tests and there are things we
want peace equality to make a difference
to take a stand raise rights against
injustice and stereotypes that’s a cloud
we created last year we saw injustice
cruelty we heard words unfair
stereotypes we say no we refuse to be
the kind of school that judges people we
support the building of other schools
because we believe that everyone
deserves a chance to learn why can’t I
do this why can’t I do that
it’s not fair we think that we’re making
a difference we don’t want to stop we
want to pass it on here you want to
bring it to other schools we want to
keep helping you can too anyone can
start a club it takes dedication to make
a change we can do it together
