every film starts with a disclaimer so
how does the film impact you how you get
emotional with the frictional projection
and how it changed me I was born in
Mundi Himachal Pradesh and my father has
this business of apple orchards but he
always wanted to be a filmmaker
so my early encounter started with films
in a very early age as my curiosity grew
I wanted to learn more about films so I
went to my dad
I still remember he was gardening at
that time and I asked him dad I want to
learn how to make films and he looked at
me with a smile on his face
and he said are you sure about that and
I started doing this famous Indian
nodding that day he told me to make a
good film you first need a good story so
my exercise was to write a story and to
draw a storyboard that curiosity made me
enter the backstage of films I started
learning from films Enter the Dragon
starring Bruce Lee made me learn karate
as we all know martial arts which is the
art of self-defence but it also
stimulates the art of self-discipline as
my journey grew I wanted to learn the
craft of filmmaking and for that I
wanted to go to Hollywood so I again
went to my dad and I said dad I want to
go to Hollywood and he said what will
you do in Bollywood
I said not Bollywood dad Hollywood and
it looked at me with a smile again are
you sure about that so after some
struggle with myself and people around I
managed to go to Los Angeles
so as we all know feature always has
something else in the store I never got
admission in any school but the fire to
learn filmmaking made me a frequent
visitor to the University of South
California is film department
I started making new friends and started
working on their projects as a volunteer
so one day with my friend I went to the
shoot of this popular film Pulp Fiction
this was the first time then I when I
saw the huge lights the cameras the
stars
I was totally in a candy shop and that
day I was introduced to the casting
director Gary Zack abroad he was the
source of films he taught me acting and
he introduced me to television so I
started working for the television and
after four years of working in TV I
shifted to the films and I started
working in films so I was both behind
and front of the camera I started
enjoying everything but somehow that
main desire to learn the art of
filmmaking was left behind so I told
myself that let’s just go with the flow
and just enjoy the moment so I started
enjoying it more and more then one day
with a friend of mine he introduced me
to the core team of Mission Impossible
and Tom Cruise so I started working as
an associate action director and then
working with Tom Cruise was a really
life-changing experience it taught me a
lot of things and he introduced me with
a lot of people in the industry so as we
know that the life of a stuntman
is without risk and getting hurt is
impossible so one day I went with the
major accident and it changed my life I
was forbidden to do stunts and I came
so every film starts with a disclaimer
can you all please read it out the
thank you so whatever I have just told
you is all fake I am NOT a stunt man I’m
not from Hollywood or anything I just
made this presentation for this talk so
let me give you some more different
information about myself I started
working on Photoshop in my college years
graduation
[Applause]
so I’m a visual artist fine artist and I
started replacing myself with actors in
popular Hollywood movies and just like
you guys
even the popular media they thought
these images were real and they started
publishing you know at the place of real
images just like this one this was
published in a popular magazine so then
I questioned myself what is reality
what is real reality is information we
perceive from our five senses reality is
just like this orange this is an orange
we have been told from a childhood that
orange looks like this but actually
reality have layers when we go deeper
maybe what we think is real is not it
could be something else we are being
deceived every day you read the news in
newspaper in boards internet computer
and you believe it without any doubt
because of our habit to believe in any
information so question everything if
you see a billboard a newspaper news
anything that talks cautionary don’t
just believe anything question
everything and now I give you choice get
out of your comfort zone question and
believe anything if you want to believe
in the first part of my presentation I’m
a stunt man believe it or if you want to
believe that I’m an artist to do
Photoshop and make images believe that
you [Applause]
