Stephen Hawking Last Speech before he died … Powerful Speech

I was born in 1942 exactly 300 years
after the death of Galileo my parents
were both at Oxford University where my
father studied medicine he later
specialized in tropical diseases I also
spent a lot of time laying on my own as
a boy I had a passion to understand how
things worked from toy trains to the
my mother and father were intellectuals
but naturally they expected their
children to follow during my final year
at Oxford I had noticed that I was
getting rather clumsy in my movements
when I fell over once or twice for no
apparent reason but then one evening
late at night something more serious
happened I recall the time the steam
fell down the stairs he fell down set
when I look back at that fall I didn’t
realize at the time that was the warning
sign of things to come but I recovered
and soon had more pressing things on my
mind
[Music]
despite my relaxed attitude the study I
graduated with first-class honours and
left Oxford for Cambridge University to
yet little did I know I will soon be
diagnosed with a crippling illness that
will change my life forever it was the
place where my mind was constantly
telling as I developed into a teenager
my parents taught me to always question
things and think big at school my
classmates gave me the nickname Einstein
even though I was only ever halfway up
the class it was I like to think a very
bright class the notion of fame the
Sakura thing to me in my mind I am a
scientist who has been lucky to work on
some of the fundamental mysteries of our
universe sometimes I wonder if I am as
famous for my wheelchair and
the decline in my health was a stark
reminder that time was against me yet
despite the pressures on my family I was
determined I realized a lifelong
ambition by writing a pop law book about
how the universe had begun I wanted the
book to be read by millions of people
around the world like a best-selling
Airport novel life has thrown at me both
good times and bad perhaps it is human
nature that we adapt and survive
[Music]
as for me I have lived with the prospect
of an early death most of my life I am
Not Afraid of dying but I’m in no hurry
to die
there are many ambitious experiments
planned for the future we will map the
positions of billions of galaxies and
with the help of supercomputers we will
better understand our place in the
universe but we must also continue to go
into space for the future of humanity I
don’t think we will survive another
thousand years without escaping beyond
our fragile planet that has been a
glorious time to be alive and doing
research in theoretical physics the fact
that we humans who are ourselves mere
collections of fundamental particles of
nature have been able to come this close
to an understanding of the laws
governing us in our universe is a great
triumph and I’m happy if I have made a
small contribution I want to share my
excitement and enthusiasm about this
quest so remember to look up at the
stars and not down at your feet try to
make sense of what you see and wonder
about what makes a universe exist leave
Gorillaz and however difficult life may
seem there is always something you can
do and succeed at it matters that you
don’t just give up goodbye
and thank you for coming on the journey through my world
