George Friedrich Hegel was born in Stuttgart in 1770.
He was intellectually adventurous, but outward, respectful, traditional, and proud of him
The academic tree ascended and reached the top of the branch,
He was the president of the University of Berlin, when he was sixty years old; he died the following year.
Hegel wrote some very long and very famous books, among them,
“Spirit scientists”, “logic science”, “elements of the philosophy of truth”
But, we would be frank: he wrote awful books
Its work is confusing and complex when it is clear and direct.
He has exploited the weakness of human nature: to be confident of dangerous, incomprehensible prose.
This has made philosophy much weaker in the world than it should be
It made it much harder for us to hear the valuable things that Hegel had to tell us
Among them a few lessons stand out.
First, an important part of ourselves can be found in history.
On Hegel’s day, the standard European way of looking at the past was primitive
He is proud of the progress that has been made in bringing us to the modern age.
But in his book, “Spiritual Phenomenology”, published in 1807, Hegel said it
Each era can be seen as a repository of a certain kind of wisdom.
This means we need to come back in time to save the lost things.
So, for example, we may need to mine the history of ancient Greece to a full understanding of the idea of what society can be,
So, for example, we may need a mine history of ancient Greece to fully understand the idea of what society can be
Or, the Middle Ages can teach us, as another era can not, about the role of honor
Even if this period shows appalling attitudes toward children or women’s rights.
“Progress is never linear,” Hegel tells us; “there is wisdom at every stage”
“Which,” says Hegel “refers to us the task of the historian.”
“To be a historian is to be someone who should rescue, from the past, those ideas that’re most needed”
To compensate for the blind spots of the present. “
Second, learn from ideas that do not hate
Hegel was a great believer in learning from one’s intellectual enemies, from the point of view disagree with her, or that feels alien.
This is because holding, “bits of truth always get scattered even in places unattractive, or strange”
We have to dig them through the question always,
“What sliver of reason and reason can be contained in frightening or otherwise foreign phenomena?”.
Patriotism, for example, had many terrible manifestations even in Hegel’s day,
But Hegel’s move was asking what a good idea or an important need might be hiding in the bloody history of nationalism.
He suggested that people should be proud of where they came from
To determine beyond their own achievements,
And to establish their identity behind the ego.
Hegel is the hero of thought that may be really important ideas in the hands of the people who is considered, at first sight, under contempt.
Thirdly, progress is a mess
Hegel believes the world makes progress,
But only by reeling from one contrast to another. In its quest to make up for the previous mistake.
He suggested that it usually takes three moves.
Before the right balance in any issue can be found.
A process called DIALEKTIK.
He was often thinking of the twisting and complex turns that resulted in the modern state.
We can also think of a slow path towards reasonable positions for sex in our time.
The Victorian era imposed a lot of repression, but the 1960s may turn out to be very liberal.
It may be only by the 2020s that you ll find the right balance between extremes.
All this could seem the ugliest waste of time, but Hegel insists that the painful step of an era into an age is inevitable.
Something we must expect and reconcile ourselves when planning our lives
Or think of history books.
And sometimes in the process of transition from era to era LP find a new solution,
To enable the compilation of good qualities of previous solutions,
To offer something really new, different and better.
Four, the art has purpose.
Hegel strongly rejected the idea of art for art.
Drawing, music, architecture, literature and design: each has a key function to do.
We need it so that important information can become powerful and useful in our lives.
Art is in the formulation of Hegel`s: “Presentation of Sensory Thoughts”.
Just knowing the ideas often leaves us cold.
For example in theory we believe that the conflict in Syria is an important one.
In practice but we switch off.
In principle we know that we must be more tolerant of our partners,
But this abstract conviction gets forgotten in less provocation.
The art destination Hegel realized, and not so much to come up with new and quirky ideas
But to take good, useful, important ideas already believe we know,
And make it a more creative stick in our minds.
five. We need new institutions.
Hegel took a very positive view of the institutions and then power could exercise.
This is a point that is repeatedly relegated in different ways.
For ideas to be effective and influential in the world, then much of the ideas are needed are simply correct.
To make the big facts strong in the community they need staff, construction, budgets and legal advice.
Institutions allow for a range of time and energy in need of large projects to become effective in the world.
So, as new needs of the community get recognized, they should ideally lead not only to new books but to the formation of new institutions.
At present we can say that we need major new institutions to focus on relationships,
Consumer awareness, career choice, management temperament and how to bring up less damaged children.
Hegel helped us to see valuable ideas what could resist them at first,
In art in institutions in our enemies’ ideas and in strange mistakes of the past.
His insight is growth requires that the conflict of ideas divergent, and thus will be painful and slow.
But at least once we know this we are forced to exacerbate our problems by thinking them unnatural.
Hegel gives us a more accurate and therefore more manageable view of ourselves,
We have difficulties and where we are in history.
