Sword Play | National Geographic

hey how you doing
awesome store man alright so what can we
show you um well you know now you kind
of collect knives and swords and things
absolutely here’s a fun one this is a
Marlin spike from the Marlin fish no a
knife stab at least it’s clean edges
comes in and out clean this one there
rip on the way in and rip away some guts
out with it I have this Japanese World
War two sword in this case we look
carefully we have actual shark skin hmm
also the guard here I bought one and
fifty years old just the guard
lots a great stuff but I haven’t seen
anything with precious metals yet this
is ones here up on the wall this is
known as the Emperor’s sword because it
you know has a lot of flash now I ask
you don’t touch a blade because finger
oils can be very acidic I don’t care if
you cut yourself that’s your problem
what material is all this well this is
hammered brass I was press right why
would it be so common for them to use
brass and something called like the
Emperor sword the truth is functionality
if you’re really gonna take this into
combat
it can easily be repaired I’d like to
find some pieces that actually have real
gold on it that’s not where the value is
only a fool would think that’s where the
value is the valleys into the
workmanship the detail we stay away from
a lot of the gaudy decorative items
that’s what I’m after well you know I do
have a friend it’s kind of a little bit
all the way once again a lead turns into
another lead this is my last-ditch
effort if this doesn’t work out then I’m
calling it quits have a nice day
you
