Chasing a Mountain Lion in Hollywood’s Urban Jungle | National Geographic

we are here in Griffith Park in Central
LA working on our mountain lion story
because there’s a mountain lion in
downtown LA right by the Hollywood sign
and right above the Hollywood Hills he
had to cross the 405 to get here and the
101 he crossed a bridge he’s stuck here
because of freeways with enormous
amounts of traffic 24 hours a day
visually technically the difficulty of
working in downtown LA boy there are so
many challenges that are completely
different than the ones that I usually
face working in remote jungles around
the world I mean here these urban cats
don’t normally walk or hunt during the
day so we’re photographing at night the
cameras are remote cameras are setting
nightly angle it down the single hardest
thing about working in this park is
finding locations where you see urban
wildlife and the city we walk the trails
and try to find the best view you have
to see that you’re in downtown a life
you don’t want to think that you’re in
downtown LA you want to know you’re in
downtown LA I knew we were on the right
track when I got some photographs of
animals and people that walk through the
trap after 14 months everything came
together the lighting the composition
and I got the image I dreamed of p22 at
the Hollywood sign
