Problem Shed | National Geographic

first off an experiment that’s
guaranteed to send temperatures soaring
and quite possibly these garden sheds
I’ve invited some locals to join me off
the beaten track I want to show them how
some of the substances you might think
safe enough to keep in your garden shed
could actually be highly explosive in
garden shades you usually find such
things as diesel gas we’ve got beautiful
got propane all right I thought what we
could do is put them to the test to find
out which is the most explosive and try
and take out your garden shed who’s up
for it right
you have got over there this one here
butane camping stone yeah camping all
those things seen those before camping
stove all righty all righty
this kind of stuff you’re keeping the
garden shed we’ve also got propane from
a barbecue everyone’s got one of those
you’ve got about you guys at your
barbecue Cecil the trucks for cars are
we got regular gasoline okay okay look
behind you you’ll see we’ve got one shed
for each of the four who wants to try
and blow them up for the gasoline and
diesel I’m gonna splash them liberally
over the floor and walls of their
respective sheds I’m gonna leave one
small can of the butane gas and the
large can of propane gas in the middle
of bare sheds and open up the valves
I’ll place this electric match in each
shed close the door and then activate it
from the end of a cable at a safe
distance you have to choose which of the
four you reckon is going to be the most
explosive right look which one you go
for I’m gonna go with propane propane it
is that right which one I’m going for
gasoline we’ve all seen gasoline well
okay so you’ll go for gasoline diesel
really you’ll go diesel yes right I must
say the butane because cigarette
lighters but I see nello explosion they
made
so we’re looking for the biggest and
most explosive reaction here and which
of the four is it going to be the
propane the gasoline the butane or the
diesel
