when I woke up from surgery that’s where
the smell came back kind of just a roll
on your side and you get a whiff of the
explosion it smells like sulfur and
maybe like metal and then I remembered
everything I couldn’t really move my
left leg at all and I remember looking
at the nurse and saying I’m not gonna
lose anything she said no honey you’re
not gonna lose anything
Michelle was just coming out of our
surgery you know she was tired from
being under the anesthesia but she’s
just still smiling every time you saw
her and there’s much pain that she was
in she was always smiling and happy that
was the first night that I spent with
her there and I don’t think I left her
for more than a day for you know her
whole stay at the hospital
and we held my hand every single night
that he was there
