in my village when I was little growing
up we would pray in the forest now
there’s no fall asleep if nothing’s done
to help the current rate of
deforestation Uganda will have no
forests in the next 20 years communities
will simply cease to exist while we do I
take off your Africa as we convert
biomass waste into clean and affordable
cooking fuel for energy poorer
households in Uganda so that people can
stop cutting down forests of you
we give farmers kilns which they use to
carbonize their agricultural wastes and
make a powder we call Cha they retain
20% which they use as fertilizers we buy
80% of that powder and compress it into
briquettes they burn longer and they ban
cleaner helping poor people in
developing countries access clean energy
will help achieve sustainable
development and avoid the mistakes that
the developed world made many
generations ago
