Jason Silva on What You Don’t Know | Brain Games

the people don’t ever question the world
of wonders that they reside in these
machines these extensions of our
cognition that we employ to transcend
the limitations of space time and
distance are so complex and people
hardly ever stop and say how to held it
this work you know there’s more energy
per second per gram flowing through the
canals of a microchip then on the
surface of the Sun it’s the most
energetically active thing in the known
universe the microchip is on your
computer I never consider them or
contemplate that complexity if they’re
lost because they’re missing out on a
lot of the richness of what they get to
enjoy we have these exponentially
accelerating growth curves of
information technology biologists
becoming an information technology
nanotechnology is turning matter it’s a
programmable medium artificial
intelligence is increasingly creating
non-biological intelligence that as
intelligent as human or more and these
overlapping revolutions together
continue to extend the boundaries of
what it means to be human it’s not that
these technologies are like separate
from us these technologies are
appendages they’re a part of us they’re
our umbilical cord is connected to that
they are our children
and they will extend what it means to be
