Hidden Treasure | National Geographic

I’m on the hunt for hidden treasure now
antique hunters are always looking to
uncover value in what might look like
worthless trash to the untrained eye I’m
going to use a spot of simple science to
see if I can’t impress some experienced
collectors and maybe make a little cash
on the side you’ve got some lovely
pieces to show you no disrespect it’s
going to put most of stuff you’ve got in
here to shame I’m like to see that okay
it’s in my presentation box a bit of a
family heirloom yep have a look at that

we would be interested in right why it’s
just it’s not really anything yeah it’s
just a piece of bent metal honey I don’t
know what you’ve been told but it’s a
piece of genuine copper that’s been zinc
plated ooh any nail you pick up at the
hardware store is that as well anyway I
want to show you something with it or I
hang on there look right listen give me
that for a minute right I’m gonna do
something to this I’m gonna heat it up
why would you do that then I’m gonna
dunk it into your coffee
into my coffee it’s your coffee is that
Alright no no and then you’re gonna buy
me a new coffee I’ll buy a new coffee
alright with the money that I get from
selling you this okay which is gonna
impress you right so what’s gonna happen
to it it’s gonna bloom it’s gonna turn
into rainbows yes that’s right the right
word anyway so you say he’s gonna go
multi-coloured Yeah right okay okay I
like that good okay what do you thinks
gonna happen um if you’re gonna heat it
up maybe it’ll explode it’ll melt right
it’ll melt
okay melts and bloom all right should we
find out I suppose
here we go so as I begin to heat my
seemingly worthless zinc coated copper
bracelet what will happen will it as the
guys are predicted turned multicolored
with a rainbow effect melton dissolve
under the heat of my blowtorch
will it maybe turn gold or expand and
grow in front of their very eyes
