10:35 p.m. finally the ship’s crew make
a major announcement the car jolts mark
and Sarah Plath from their sleep and at
that time it was the same thing you know
electrical problem the technicians were
working on it don’t be concerned but at
that time they said we want you to
report to your muster stations I had no
idea what that meant muster station I
looked at mark and I was like where are
we supposed to go and he said grab your
life vest and I was like my life vest
why you know I just was confused why are
we grabbing our life vest I had no idea
the passenger lifeboats are located on
deck 4 there are 26 this should be
enough for all passengers on board 10:45
p.m. suddenly the Concordia hits land a
second time the massive cruise ship
comes to rest on an underwater reef and
begins listing violently mark and Sarah
Plath finally make it to deck four where
the gravity of the situation hits them
at the bottom of the stairs on the
fourth floor we stood at the hallway
because the entire deck was full of
people so then at that point I’m
thinking you know okay this is serious
we’re getting off the boat which you
know at first I didn’t realize that
10:58 p.m. the announcement everybody’s
waiting for is finally made abandon ship
everybody’s just rushing towards one
side and everybody’s trying to push
towards the front everyone’s trying get
on a lifeboat
this time there was just pure chaos
nobody knew what was going on and by now
they had wasted so much of time that
when they did allow us to get onto the
boat people were just pushing it’s fight
for survival it’s everybody was up for
themselves at that time I remember
telling Samir I said no matter what
happens I am NOT leaving the ship
without you because as we were just
thinking about Titanic before and I
remembered in Titanic they said women
and children first
I just remember my brothers and I
running to each lifeboat and then the
crew telling us full go to the next one
full go to the next one that was the
point where I actually really started to
panic and kind of freaked out just
because I didn’t know if there was gonna
be a lifeboat waiting for us how we were
going to get off
