90 miles away on the Italian mainland
the Coast Guard received an alert from
an unlikely source will received news of
an emergency situation on the ship from
the passengers themselves they were
worried because that being a blackout
and so they started to call family and
friends as well as the police who
immediately passed this information to
the legal mccosker the Coast Guard calls
the ship directly to find out what’s
happening we contacted the captain of
the ship his answer was there’s a
blackout on board but the situation is
under control up on parole Mark and
Sarah Plath still asleep in their cabin
are jolted awake by the announcement the
speaker was really loud and they said
that there was an electrical problem
they had technicians working on it don’t
worry and I reached over and flipped on
our light and our light didn’t work and
I thought oh there’s electrical problem
they just said that that makes sense so
we went back to sleep
but Amanda Warrick and her brothers are
not reassured my brothers and I decided
to go back to our cabins and put on our
life jackets and just grab any valuables
that we could get we decided to just
wait there until further instruction
because we didn’t really know where else
to go while we were still in her in her
cabin another announcement I come on
basically saying the same thing that it
was an electrical problem and that their
technicians were working on it and that
it would be solved in no time I guess we
kind of tried to believe it but other
than that we it was it was a little off
something up off about the message
