my name is Steve Jobs and I am a
co-founder of Apple computers which
invented the personal computer I see the
world differently because I look at
design and I see form and function
aligned together and I I don’t believe
that most people look at the world that
way the people in the past they saw the
computer as a machine and I saw it as an
extension of us an extension of who we
are I think bill was Phil’s a good guy I
like Bill spent some time with him we’ve
worked together in the past before I
think the difference between Bill and I
is just that I’m good taste and I think
that says a lot about who we are I think
it’s important to have taste and when
you’re creating I think you can look at
anything that Microsoft has done and it
just doesn’t work I wouldn’t say that
there’s a grudge I mean you know we have
a fine relationship and you know it’s
water under the bridge in the past yeah
we we absolutely had a had a grudge and
that grudge was well we can hem and haw
about it but windows ended up looking a
lot like the first Macintosh UI and
Macintosh came first which was an
initial point of contention for us and
there were many others over the years I
think we owe a great debt of gratitude
to what Microsoft was able to achieve
what Bill was able to achieve and and
frankly bills vision and and what he did
for the industry Microsoft was a real
juggernaut there for a while Bill’s an
important person for our industry the
winner
between the two of us is obvious if you
look at how we have integrated ourselves
into the lives of people all over the
world and how our products have changed
the way that we interact with technology
and I don’t think Microsoft can say that
I think what makes me an American genius
is that it takes courage it takes
courage to fight for your ideas for your
vision there gonna be a lot of people
who are gonna get in your way
who are going to be obstacles and what’s
most important is the vision
