“Understand the Full ASPECT of the BUSINESS!” | Tony Robbins (@TonyRobbins) | #Entspresso

I never encourage people to get a
business I try to push the line tripping
or takes full responsibility for
everything you can’t be one-dimensional
the fact that human beings are strongest
drive is the need to stay consistent
with how we define ourselves so while
you’re in this passionate state that’s
where you make decisions so if you want
to change your life my friends you’ve
got to change your physiology and you
got to change your focus most
entrepreneurs are artists in their
nature I look at three types of
personalities and artists to somebody
that has a tremendous gift a skill and
ability of talent you know like an
athlete you know curry is and as in the
end an incredible artist some people
they’re their artist sales they can sell
ice to an Eskimo some people it’s
writing software they’re incredible
we’re designing clothes and most
businesses are started by an artist who
says I can do it better but they don’t
realize that as you start to try to grow
a business you’re the most talented
employee you have at the beginning and
the cheapest one right and now you have
to hire other people and you know
they’re not going to do as good a job
and it ties people into this negative
effect what I really see is the biggest
mistake that these individuals make is
they don’t understand business they get
in because they want to do good work for
their client and most of them as you
know ninety-six percent are gone in ten
years and the four percent that survive
they aren’t necessarily profitable I
mean five percent of all businesses ever
cracked a million dollars gross not net
profitability gross and you know point
zero zero zero six so it’s six one
hundred six out of a hundred thousand
businesses will ever do ten million
gross so I say to people in business I
never encourage people to get a business
I try to push them away because it’s too
hard if you don’t have the internal
drive to make it through that
psychologically you’re better partnering
with somebody you’re better doing
something
I think under a steamy business is the
challenge and I always say that 80% of
the choke hold on the growth of any
business is always the owner the leader
and 80% of that is their psychology and
20% of skills like if you don’t on the
market you’re in trouble
most most entrepreneurs get in trouble
because they don’t know how to read
their financials they don’t have a clue
I denied it you know it’s like you can
go on in a plane on a day like today
that’s a decent day and you can fly if
you’re a pilot with what they call
digital flying world so you can look
around you and even fly you get of the
storm you better be able to read those
instruments are you gonna die and most
entrepreneurs know how to read those
instruments they look down and they see
profit loss and they know I mean a
profit all right a loss and they have a
beer either right one detriment opinion
or the other one to celebrate right and
profit is a theory as you know
accounting is a very special language
unless you understand how to use
accounting to make better decisions
until you learn understand and measure
things in a way that gives you better
decision-making capability then you get
broadsided and you know profitability
you get a lot of profit no cash so I
think not arresting the full aspect of
the business not managing your own
psychology and not knowing your numbers
will be three critical things that I
soare when I sat down to write it was
written solely and exclusively to people
who had aspirations for being
entrepreneurial because I grew up in a
home with entrepreneurship and I’m very
passionate about it and I’ve expressed
it to my children as I began to write it
I thought this is also true for people
who are starting churches the same land
set was applicable because a non true a
person who goes to work goes to work to
perform a task and when the task is over
they go home and entrepreneur doesn’t
have hours an entrepreneur takes full
responsibility for everything you can’t
be one-dimensional and be an
entrepreneur just because you like to
bake cookies doesn’t mean that you can
just think about making cookies you got
to think about packaging you got to
think about marketing you got to think
about health inspections you got to
think about stamp development you have
to think about everything the buck stops
with you so you have to be a global
thinker to be an entrepreneur we are
taught we are teaching people to be
specialists in one dimension and it was
very much like pastoring a church
starting a church you started a church
you can’t just wear my wanna go preaches
something there are preachers who who
come to work for churches who are so
organized that they are hired to preach
but if you started church
you better be hard to clean bathrooms
you better be hard to drive the bus you
better be hard to balance once you have
to be hard to do a whole lot of stuff
you know I worked my way out of doing
all of this stuff but I started out you
know I was acquired direct to the head
of the digger Board to clean up
community at the janitorial service and
the marketing director I had to be
everything that’s an entrepreneurial
mindset and I continued to write the
book I realized and I wasn’t talking
about a thing I was talking about a
mentality the mentality says I take
responsibility for where my life is
going well sir I wrote the books or to
say to you whether you’re working a job
and need when when you work a job I tell
you what I’ll pay you but what I’m
willing to pay you may not be how much
need to make so you might need multiple
streams of income in order to get what
you are really worth even though I’ve
determined what I’m going to pay you you
cannot allow my evaluation and
assessment of what you are worth to my
company stream to be the substratum of
what you hope to get for your dream and
your purpose you understand so whether
it is subsidizing your income with
multiple streams of income as I
mentioned to you while I’m sitting here
talking to you we’re filming in
Pittsburgh you don’t always have to be
present to be productive okay I talk in
the book about building the team around
you in building I call it the machine
building the machine is imperative for
you to be functional the only reason I
can sit here right now is that I have a
team of staff people who are sending me
tanks up to the very last minute before
I walked out here telling me what’s
going on in all the venues all the time
all the while what’s being shot what’s
being handled all that’s going on you
have to build around you and
infrastructure and this is what the
reason one of the reasons I wrote the
book is I watched my father started a
business with the mop of the bucket the
one mop one bucket borrowed a truck went
to clean up a place and turn it into a
business with 52 employees and 10 truck
service in the state of West Virginia
doing a janitorial service and one of
the things that stopped it from going
nationwide in my view is that he
wouldn’t stop mopping you understand
what I’m saying
my father was such a hustler and a good
sense he was a good hustler he was it
was hard to describe what he did because
he did everything to survive in his 1960
and then when he started working he was
good at working took pride in what he
did but in order to really get your hand
on things things you have to stop doing
and start being John Maxwell says if you
know how to do a thing you will always
have a job but if you know why they’re
one little small you you have the most
important work ever if you had to think
of one word that’s most important to you
or that sums you Apple that would be
kind of like a little beacon one of the
biggest challenges for people’s
everybody wants a better quality of life
everybody wants life to be greater but
almost all of us get stuck at times or
something stops us something prevents us
from doing something that we really are capable of doing
