5 Ways to develop & follow your INTUITION – #BelieveLife

morning belief nation today we’re going
to talk about how you can develop and
follow your intuition number 5 is my
personal favorite so I’m curious to find
out what you guys like best and make
sure to stick around all the way to the
end for some special bonuses you know in
all of the years of doing the Oprah show
there were many days that I sat in my
chair across from one or two or five or
six or seven people and I would be so
frustrated because I just wanted to
shake people sometimes and say why
didn’t you pay attention to your life I
said on the show probably the producers
tell me that they counted 33 times but I
know I thought it at least a thousand
times I would say listening to your life
as it whispers to you first so that it
does not have to knock you upside the
head with a brick or come crashing down
on you as a brick wall is one of the
greatest principles of life because
there are many things that happen in
life that are beyond our control
natural disasters death unexplained
events but there are also many many many
things in life which we can control and
become out of control because you just
not paying attention you are
sleepwalking through your life and I
have seen this so many times on the show
I wanted to take the guests and go
we were Jews where your attention so
this is what I’ve learned and how I’ve
explained it to myself
life whispers to you all the time your
life is speaking to you all around from
the time you wake up in the morning and
every single experience that’s coming
into your personal space into your
physical space all of those
inches are speaking to you they’re
telling you something about your life
and about your circumstances it whispers
and if you don’t get the whisper the
whisper gets louder if you don’t get the
whisper when it gets louder it gets I
call it like a little pebble like a
little thump upside your head when I was
a kid if I was doing something my
grandmother didn’t like she just turn
around and thump me she wouldn’t even
look at me she just give me a thump and
I know that’s that’s my cue
to stop it or you were going to get
worse the whispers the message the
pebble or the thump upside the head
usually it’s gone into a problem you
don’t pay attention to the problem the
problem becomes a brick upside your head
the brick upside your head is a crisis
you don’t pay attention to the brick
upside your head the crisis turns into a
disaster and the whole house brick wall
comes falling down
intuition usually operates on the realm
of positive growth for us if we have an
idea or interest and says you know I
should try that I feel you know connect
to that idea I’m passionate I’m excited
about it then go for that follow that
intuition that says it’s time to change
follow that intuition that says I could
do this if all that intuition says I
it’s a second chance while that
intuition says you know I could start
over if that’s what’s calling to you
then listen to it explore doesn’t mean
you need to take that next big leap
towards it I’m not saying your your
decision-making for what to do on the
intuition is right I’m just saying
follow the intuition that means sit down
and think why am i hearing this right
now if if it’s right what would be my
next right action of integrity to move
towards it so you know your intuition
says pay attention it’s decision-making
that decides how to implement that well
so make the decisions but if it says
this would this would make me grow this
would excite me this would bring more
engagement and thews as an energy to my
life I’m like go baby go when I was in
South Africa on a safari I was blessed
to be on a safari after I had taught for
a group of black billionaires a seminar
about faith in finances and they
detained me over and gave me the
privilege of staying out at Jay Paul
Gettys place out there in the middle of
the jungle somewhere and and to go on a
safari with my son it was amazing so
there I am in between a zoologist who is
giving me all of this information about
all the animals their habitats their
mating practices how they live how they
operate and sitting on the edge of the
Jeep with a shotgun
to protect us we weren’t honey we just
watch it was a Zulu Zulu says nothing at
all the zoologist explains all the
animals and we visit all the different
places and see a lot of animals but we’d
had not found elephant he explained the
elephant but he could not find him
finally there’s a Zulu stood up and he
put his finger in there and then pointed
up he said the elephant is over there
but he said it to me my head exploded
Larry it exploded because
all of us and I realized I’m sitting
between intellect and instinct intellect
can describe it but only instinct can
find it and from the premise of that
ideology I begin to go back through all
of my life and begin to see not only me
but others how if they position
themselves between intellect and
instinct and no flame to yield to which
one that next big thing whether it’s an
elephant an entrepreneurial pursuit or
raising a family
it is simply over there if you follow
your instincts
Adrian de Groot was famous for doing a
series of studies in the 1940s 50s and
60s around the game of chess and in one
study in particular he had chess novices
and chess masters involved and in both
cases they were shown a chess board of a
chess game halfway in progress but they
were only allowed to see that chess
board for five seconds then the curtain
went down they got a fresh board and
they had to recreate what they saw in
the chest novices this was a this is
really a difficult task and they got on
average four or five maybe six pieces
right after that they couldn’t remember
anymore but of course for the chess
masters this was easy because they had
the familiarity they could chunk the
information down they saw this storyline
of the game in progress they saw the
strategy of both sides so for them it
was very easy to recreate what they saw
and so what we learn is that intuition
these intuitions are in fact a
combination of experience and expertise
when you have experience and expertise
in a given area these intuitions these
almost superhuman intuitions come
automatically so the question is what’s
the fastest way to get experience and
expertise in a given setting and the
answer to that question is immersion
when you immerse yourself into something
you automatically get that experience in
expertise much much quicker so
intuitively it makes a lot of sense that
if you want to learn French the best way
to do that is to go to France and live
there for a period of time you would
learn far more by living in France
and by taking French lessons every week
for months or even years or if you
wanted to learn to become a snowboarder
this one’s fascinating if you want to
learn to snowboard you’re much better
off going five days in a row than going
one day every week for five weeks in
both cases you’re on the mountain for
five days but you see when you do it all
at one time
it gives your unconscious mind an
opportunity to see those patterns to
organize all that new information and
start to understand you move up that
learning curve way way quicker and so my
challenge to all of you is to take a
more active role in your own lives with
this knowledge take a more active role
and use immersion and incorporate
intentional immersion into your lives in
the areas in which you’re passionate
because if you do that you’re going to
develop superhuman intuitions that will
allow you to advance much much quicker
and in doing that you will take one
giant step to becoming a superhero of
your own number four is pay attention to
your visceral reactions so this is how
my intuition speaks to me and I have to
tell you it is really loud so I’m
talking about the physical things that
you feel in your body
whenever you’re considering a decision
what are the physical sensation so you
have to ask yourself what am i sensing
what am I feeling right now do you feel
an immediate sense of dread are you
getting tight in your chest or do you
feel tired or do you feel reluctant on
the other hand do you feel a sense of
openness or lightness or a sense of
relief I’m not talking about thoughts
I’m talking about physical sensations in
your body one of the the functions of
belief is taking action we did a survey
of about 2,000 top entrepreneurs and we
noticed that one of the things that
people who win in that world have is a
bias for action if they have an
inspiration they act on it I mean how
many of you have ever had a great idea
talked about it thought about it didn’t
do it then someone else did it was
successful and you went on I should have
done that maybe it was by that piece of
property it was all that we all have
that piece of property we wish we bought
you know
anyway so we’re going to be looking at
the idea that taking action is part of
law of attraction see a lot of people
think you just sit in your room
meditate visualize having the perfect
car the perfect house the perfect
relationship and then it’ll kind of just
come to you and I always say unless you
live at the bottom of the hill where
there’s a road it’s probably not going
to be a Cadillac show up in your living
room right so think about this the last
six letters of the word attractions fell
what AC tion action now there’s two
kinds of actions that are critical
there’s obvious actions if you want a
certain kind of car you should go down
and test-drive it you should find out
how much it costs you should see what it
costs to maintain it you should go you
know spend I like to test drive a car
three or four times go down to the
dealer take a camera stick my head out
the window say take a picture of me I’ll
be back to buy it put it up on my
refrigerator look at it every day
eventually you know those kind of things
produce car right saving for it and so
forth but there are also things called
inspired actions all of a sudden you get
an inspiration to do something and you
didn’t know what it was you don’t have a
sense of like how’s this rationally
going to make sense for me to move
forward in my life I’ll give you an
example a friend of mine dr. Ignatius
Piazza graduates chiropractic school he
wants to move to Monterey
near Pebble Beach where the golf course
is and he gets there and he says to the
local Chiropractic Association like to
join you and like you to help me get my
practice started and they said we don’t
need any more chiropractors we have one
chiropractor for every eight people in
this area as too many now he could have
said okay let the external reality
control his internal experience but he
doesn’t do that he said I’m going to
think about this and visualize it and
believe in it and something will come
that I will do and what came to him to
do was to take six months before he
opened his office and put a pin where he
wanted his office and then concentric
circles knock on every door in every
neighborhood saying hi I’m a new doctor
in town could I ask you a few questions
you know I’m starting this practice
should I open from 5:00 to 9:00 in the
morning and or should I be open from
5:00 until 9:00 at night for people who
have nine-to-five jobs which would be
better should I advertise in this paper
or that paper should I call it Ignatius
Piazza chiropractic or
Qwest then his last question was the
five an open house would you like to
receive an invitation they said yes he
wrote it though now over six months he
knocked on 12500 doors talked to 6500
people and gathered over 4,000 names of
people who said yes I’d like an
invitation to your open house now when
he opened his office six months later in
a town that did not need another
chiropractor according to the
professionals his first month in
practice he netted seventy two thousand
dollars in his first year in practice
his gross income was over a million
dollars I was giving a talk and
mentioned this story just about five
years ago and this happened about 25
years ago someone said he knocked on my
door and he left his card and two years
later I needed the chiropractor and I
called him because we work with people
we know we’ve had an experience with
right so he trusted his intuition he
took action on it other people would say
oh yes I can’t have what I want
you got to be willing to take the action
thank you guys so much for watching I
made this video because moolah right car
asked us to so there’s a topic that
you’d like me to cover in the next
edition of believe life leave it in the
comments below and I’ll see what I can
do I also love to know what you took
from this video what changes you might
make to your life as a result of
watching it leave it in the comments I
will join the discussion thank you so
much for watching have an amazing day
continue to believe and I’ll see you
soon
you’re going to fall in love one day
with somebody and you’re going to love
them here but you’re not going to love
them here what happens you get a
stomachache here don’t you you fall in
with somebody here you don’t love him
here what happens you get a stomachache
here where do you follow love with your
stomach
are you cultivating your intuition and I
would say if you’re not drinking enough
beer at the Oasis you’re not taking
advantage of your education because what
you’re going to do in life is you’re
always going to be gauging people if
they’re BSS or not if you’re not
cultivating your human skills they’re
going to snow you you know what I mean
drinking beer is not your enemy drinking
beer and socializing having coffee
you’re learning that those are very
constructive moments you’re learning is
that a person of BS or can I trust them
what is the behavior that I really want
for my workers
