hey everyone today I’ll be showing you
my miniature crossbow now this thing is
awesome it’s got two barrels also some
dart storage here in the handle it’s
pretty cool my favourite feature is the
rotating barrel which allows you to fire
in a rapid succession there are a ton of
different types of upgrades and
modifications that we can do so
definitely leave a comment below and
also this is just a prototype so here is
my workspace I think this is going to be
a tradition from now on just so you can
see how much trial and error and stakes
and just constant constant uphill battle
so you’re probably wondering like how
he’s a genius no I’m not genius I just
really don’t sleep no I just I just
really don’t care about making it
perfect the first time I mean look I
started out with like tens and some of
these little things here for hinges like
I was going to maybe use something like
this maybe I was going to use one of
these bobby pins or safety pins as I
don’t know maybe the bow arms and then I
was thinking oh maybe I’ll use like a
mechanical pencil now all the crafts
just there because I thought I was going
to use it and I didn’t and now it’s just
a totally disorganized mess after I had
this place already cleaned and nice but
this is a weekly endeavor it’s just kind
of my own little method of creating
stuff so if you’re a messy creature like
myself don’t feel bad sometimes you just
have to just go ham and eventually
you’ll come up with something cool but
when it comes to things like creativity
you can’t put it in a box got a Ledge is
a runnable
and then you’ll come up with something
there’s definitely some method to my
madness but I haven’t figured it out yet
but I know something’s going right
because I don’t think anyone else has
done something like this just yet and I
like it I love that this video would be
like a half an hour long if I did show
you step-by-step so I’m gonna just talk
about the materials some of the
different things you guys want me to
maybe add into the final version because
this is pretty cool you could probably
put this on your wrist if you wanted to
and it’s pretty powerful and I could
have even come up with new types of ammo
and that would kind of milk the idea
because let’s face it if I came up with
something new every single week I’m
going to burn myself out and then I’m
gonna be making jello molds and
chocolate chickens and like I want to be
able to do this as long as possible so
let’s try and be creative I would like
to have a little trigger I was thinking
about putting like a thumbtack
having like a little lever type thing
basically but if I was twisting this
turning it it would get stuck so I did
put the little rounded part there I just
don’t think that I have the patience to
like figure this out and I don’t really
care like I think it’s easier just use
your thumb anyway because otherwise I’d
have to just like bend my thumb back and
press down cause it just kind of rests
right there anyway
like boom you know it’s just really
really simple so I don’t see any problem
with this and for the sake of my sanity
I think I’m just going to leave it as is
you’ll need some of these little hair
clips embodies fairly inexpensive and
I’ll leave a link in the description for
those for the bowstring I’m using Kevlar
thread this has a strength of 200 pounds
it’s actually a kite string but this
thing’s not going to fray it’s not going
to snap also you’ll want some of these
brass fasteners
bamboo skewers for the arrows also a
little bit of tape for the fletching of
the arrow you can pretty much model it
however you want
I also took a lighter to it just to
solidify the layers make it one solid
stiff piece of plastic it’s really nice
you can also bend it like this and it
might give that a little bit of spin at
its travelling who knows and last you’ll
need some of these wooden adult tongue
depressors this is going to serve as the
main body and building structure and
also some hot glue plenty of it
so that you can connect everything
together I know I said I don’t like
using hot glue but there’s really no
other way to connect wood less you use
like nails and this stuff will just
crack so in this case I have no problem
with it I just think it gets really
messy sometimes alright so I’m going to
show you how to load it a little notch
in there that holds the bowstring and
take your dart you can fit more than
three into that and you could probably
even have some more on the front all
around if you wanted to really other
nice thing is because these are sort of
diamond-shaped allows you to get your
finger right there to pull up on that
tab that’s what’s holding this mechanism
together alright so first we’re going to
shoot this one
and then routine
all right so moved it back a little bit
more it’s about three feet away don’t be
fooled this thing can fire up to 30 feet
easily and the cool thing about this
design because I used these metal tabs
here you can stack as many as you want
this is actually Kevlar thread which I
mean this thing can hold like 200 pounds
so if you really wanted to get craft you
could make a 200 pound crossbow if you
stacked enough of these little things
here these are actually like hairpin
clips but they work amazingly nice for
this design so let’s go ahead and cock
this back load in a dart
I really like that rotating feature I
think that that’s the first I’ve ever
seen someone do that on a tutorial for a
little crossbow like this we’re gonna go
ahead and see how accurate this thing is
all right it’s got a nice little kick to
it
wow that was a nice one almost wonder if
I could put four bow portions if I made
the design a little bit different maybe
that’s something to add in the future
for this prototype I think that got some
nice results and maybe I’ll experiment
with different types of ammo
whoa missed but still you can see it
just goes right in its effortless
awesome so you can see this is a pretty
powerful little crossbow and there is
unlimited potential for upgrading it I’m
excited to share it with you and see
what type of things you come up with I
