hey everyone what’s going on here I have
my very first project involving lasers
now this is actually a 2.5 mega watt
laser it’s used supposed to be used on a
CNC laser engraver but it has this 12
volt DC wire here and this was sent to
me by banggood.com you can check them
out there’ll be a link in the
description for all the parts that you
can buy from them
I’m very impressed by the selection that
they have because I checked other
similar sites and they don’t seem to
come close especially with electronics
like this I was very impressed so they
sent me this laser a little bit on the
more expensive side because it’s
supposed to be used for CNC laser I
hacked this into my very own gorilla
drone or whatever you want to call it
I’m using a gorilla pod 12 volt battery
this is a portion from the 3d printed
projects that I’m working on right now
and it seems to work like a nice little
sort of tripod mount and then we also
have our laser now I have this thing
lined up so aiming for the center I have
this Iron Man welding mask because this
thing will literally blind you
immediately even if it was reflect off
of something metallic like a ring and
these things are very dangerous so if
you try this at home please wear proper
eye protection welding mask is a little
bit overboard but you can never be too
safe when it comes to your eye sight you
only have two of them yeah I’m going to
turn it on here you can see immediately
it starts well it burned right through
don’t want to burn my mat and you can
see that

so you can tell this thing is not
messing around in a smiley face it’s
giving news man this is something else
that thing would easily blind you
immediately so this was a project that I
literally whip together in like 30
minutes
I have so much supplies at this point
that it’s kind of just like picking
shoes and put stuff together
these are all like velcro straps I’ll
leave links in description for all the
parts is this the kind of project you
guys would like to see upgraded because
I’m taking a new approach where if I’m
going to build something I’m going to
sort of build the slap together as easy
as possible this could be implemented
into a drone I could control with like a
wiimote style controller I think that
I’m probably going to go forward with
this one because I really like it and
it’s super simple to put together so
leave a comment on how you think this
could be upgraded to be even better
obviously some sort of controllable XYZ
axis would be ideal but there’s
definitely other possibilities because
as you can see laser module just kind of
fits right in there and I used some play
foam with an adhesive on the back just
to make to build up the outside here but
I think it looks pretty cool runs me of
something kind of like out of Team
Fortress or like overwatch
so I’m really impressed and I’m gonna do
this again because it’s so much fun I’m
going to try this uh this is like a
carbon fiber adhesive and it’s actually
kind of neat if you wanted to add it to
your products to make them look more
professional like a crocodile here but I
just wanted to show you guys because
this laser works best on black material
because it absorbs more light and energy
and it’s burning a hole through the
first one see if we can burn a hole
through one and then go to the other yep
so we have achieved that and now it’s
burning through the other side
yep you can see why using lasers is
pretty freaking cool just constant barb
ardent of energy it’s pretty fascinating
really starting to like using lasers
imagine this being your eyeball yeah
that would burn I mean this is like a
sort of kind of smells like candle wax
when you burn it so I think it’s kind of
like an easier material melter but
that’s pretty thick um yeah but you can
fire this stuff at your hardware store I
went right through like Swiss cheese
so pretty awesome please leave a comment

and also are there any other gadgets
that you’d like to see me build this
point I can just whip up stuff like this
it’s not the most professional looking
but I think as far as content goes this
is probably what you guys are looking
for on a more regular basis
