hey everyone here’s a vintage lighter
review this is the Aurora 45 it’s a
Japanese pistol lighter with a built-in
flashlight it was made in the late 1950s
early 1960s and it’s got some pretty
cool features on the front you can see
it’s got this nice little diagram you
have a safety switch real working
trigger trigger guard pistol grip and
iron sights it’s got a really nice
weight to it and throughout the years
there’s no signs of rust so must be made
out of some type of stainless steel or
chrome plated metal and the only thing
that has a little bit of deterioration
is the inside I guess you can see it’s a
copper base with a chrome or stainless
steel plate so it’s got a little bit of
deterioration or tarnishing inside but
the outside looks really nice and it’s
got a really nice weight to it
definitely would not take this out on
the street it’s got too many things that
make it look like a real pistol this
could be mistaken for mag release which
is the switch for the flashlight itself
and here on the front you can see it’s
got this mock barrel and of course the
lovely iron sights I don’t know why a
lighter needs iron sights but I guess
it’s just adding to that realistic
appeal on both sides you have these
ventilation holes and you can see it
says a rover 45 with a patent number and
made in Japan logo really great quality
I would have to say here’s the safety so
I guess you don’t fire it in your pocket
and light your pants on fire
and when you slide it down there’s your
light it’s got a really reliable spring
action usually that breaks down on some
letters but it seems like they did a
really good job in engineering this
and of course when you close it there’s
a little cap here that helps to keep the
fuel from evaporating really nice
lighter one of my favorites on the
bottom here you have your refill which
would be for regular lighter fluid and
then this you can unscrew and replace a
new Flint for the lighter really cool
