for this project you will need an avery
highlighter pen mini oil lamp lighter
bottle rockets heat shrink tubing and a
dremel or sanding tool
you will need to use an exacto knife or
any other tool to take off this part of
your highlighter pen once that’s removed
you’ll need to take your dremel and
hollow out this cap be sure to get as
much of the plastic out as possible in
order to fit our oil lamp lighter into
it for the body of the lighter you’ll
need to use a sanding tool to take off
the ridges which keep the cap on the
lighter securely and then I’ll allow you
to take it off much easier at the bottom
of the lighter the highlighter you’ll
need to drill a small hole where you’ll
thread your fuse through and I put heat
shrink tubing there to help protect
against the heat of the fuse if you want
you can go to hardware store and find
brass tubing or aluminum tubing so that
your highlighter won’t melt because I’m
sure it won’t last forever it’ll
eventually just break from the heat
exhaustion from bottle rockets the last
part is you take your oil-lamp lighter
and what you do is you just remove the
internals of it
and you’re left with this which is the
lighter itself and then what you do is
after you’ve hollowed out the top of the
pen cap it should fit securely inside
like so then you take your bottle
rockets and you carefully remove the
tape depending on whatever pop type
water rocket might be different and then
the paper and you’re just left with this
missile then you take the fuse out and
you’ll see a little bit of paper there
that’s all right and put that down into
your barrel and then straighten out this
fuse and stick it through the hole that
you drilled and you don’t want to be
sure that the bottle rocket is fully
down into the chamber so that the fuse
will ignite the powder inside and if it
gets jammed you can just use the end of
it as a ramming rod or whatever it’s
called
then basically you just take your
lighter plate it and light off the fuse
and just send it so on
when I’ll put together your highlighter
rocket pen and hold two rockets inside
sometimes they get jammed and the
lighter can be refilled from the bottom
using any type of lighter fluid like
this and then everything just kind of
fits right back inside well nice and
neat so I mean I don’t really know I
thought it was a cool idea kind of like
a secret agent thing I guess you could
use it as like a signal I don’t really
know they’re pretty inaccurate when you
shoot them but I just thought it was a
cool concept and thought someone out
