here’s how to make a USB charger from
the $3 I can use this to charge my
iPhone and iPod so whatever device you
have that runs off USB this should work
you’ll need one of these car chargers or
USB devices a 9-volt battery and an
Altoids tin some other supplies if you
want I used these command strip cord
wraps clips and kind of kept my cords a
little bit more organized inside the tin
and then I also use some velcro adhesive
so that I could keep things from moving
around but those are optional you don’t
even really need the tin if you want you
can just attach a 9-volt battery to this
and it works the way you do so right
here this spring is positive and then
this part here is the negative so what I
did is just slaughter those in place and
created a little hole being mindful that
when you close the tin you want all the
holes here to be out of the way so that
it closes securely and then I used a
little drill bit so you can see the
light from inside and I also change the
LED because I didn’t like the red one
that it came with I just thought it
looked cool so that’s optional as well
so all you need is one of these and a
9-volt battery that’s the basics so what
I like about this it sort of just
happened by chance when you close the
tin this here engages and because of the
wiring tension it lifts back up so you
close the tin and it’s ready to go open
it back up and it turns off so you can
rotate this out of the way close it and
then say for storage you don’t have to
worry about wasting your battery so I’ll
show you real quick how it works move
that into place here’s my USB device
and my iPhone and close the tin there we
go
no jokes it’s all one piece and looks
pretty cool with the blue I think the
blue 10 you can use the Altoids any out
towards tin you don’t even have to use
this use whatever you want but it is
charging and you can see at the top and
I’m going to take it out see so pretty
useful one or three dollars you can have
yourself a nice emergency charger for
your USB devices so leave a comment
