just run into another lovely English

Lucy hello I’m Lucy from English with

I’m sure that a lot of my viewers also

yeah surprise so some of you might have
already seen the video that we made
together on Lucy’s channel that was all
about British slang words and Lucy
tested me to see how good my knowledge
was of British slang it was okay but it
was pretty good actually yeah well right
now in this video I’m going to be
testing your knowledge of Australian
slang which is where I’m from I’m a
holiday in London and Lucy’s from London
but I’m originally from Australia I’m
looking forward to it let’s get started
let’s get going
I’ve got my list here so the first one
that I’m going to ask you about is elbow
although mmm although oh is it like
avocado
no that’s elbow Oh what if I gave you an
example
Oh see this arvo afternoon yes it’s
really common I’ll see you the tsavo is
something good I have no idea okay let’s
go another one let’s talk about a servo
and in the same way we have a slang wave
that’s called bottle oh just a van Oh
everything in Australia so though oh
okay is a butler a bottle of wine it’s a
bottle shop so if you’re going to go to
the bottle oh you would get wine okay so
close the bottle yeah you guys call it
an off license authorizing yes yeah
and so servo is that just like a normal
shop no it’s a service station ah my
petrol station yes minor mode and then
Oh – everything okay Sabo service topic
ok what’s next we have oh I think you’ll
know this one it sounds easy and mate
that’s a frog oh yes do you go the same
we also like to imitate those trends
were saying good I might should I like
if you were going to imitate an
Australian you’d be like May nice not
perfect okay what if I said our Barbie
Bob you okay good next one is what if I
said I was going Bush are you going out
to the countryside huh – the bird be out
see how the English people say we’re
going to the countryside and Israeli
people say we going Bush going I think
you probably know this one’s quite
commonly knowing that we call these
phones flip-flops yeah cuz songs is a
very skimpy women’s underwear yes what’s
a wonderful thousands the underwear ones
and g-strings oh you have g-strings I
remember I had to change my g-string for
my violin what if I said I was going to
have a diary is that a delicious curry
no not no curry it’s not quite as
already delicious curry
no no dari is it a poo no reaction baby
no idea uh it’s also it could be a dart
rush no these are all words for like a
cigarette slang word for secrecy rent
don’t we call it fact fact piggy a ciggy
my dark diary or the ones that you roll
roll
so basically to speak Australian you
have to end everything in either o or e
yeah or a any Bell let’s just just let
it drift up leave your mouth open a
sama-sama I don’t know if I said I’m
going to grab a salmon sandwich yes no
sandwich is just an background I don’t
do too badly no I’m not oh you actually
did better than I expected so well done
