a whole serveware metaphor is about this
thing here this table is without
question the altar of the house and this
is what it’s all about and ultimately my
job to try and make you look as good as
possible right so knocking stuff out in
the same old things all the time
ain’t cool right so let’s start off with
the basics if we’ve got a nice simple
set stack of plates now I don’t care
what plates you have if you’re kind of a
little bit rustic like me and you like a
bit of wound a bit lower and a bit bent
nice try and keep – generally the whites
the off White’s the ivories stuff like
that nice simple basic plates is where
you start the other thing is is kind of
crockery whether you lay the table or
just throw your crockery in a jug like I
think the days of kind of having
everything in perfect little places are
gone it’s about having dinner rock and
roll a stack help yourself or later
table whatever you know that’s just jugs
you know you always need at least water
on the table so big jugs small jug you
know you’ve got your gravy boat maybe
you don’t want to dress your salad and
you just have it in a little jug you
know bowl shamak olive oil looks
beautiful little spoon in whip it up and
finish it at the table all that stuff
it’s very cool again these things are
all changing the height and levels of a
table and it’s cool let’s get on to sort
of more the platters now this is what
I’m talking about this is kind of like
consider it a sort of project okay you
know whether it’s old school you can see
I’m a little bit more rustic but you
know whether it’s that and that on a
table nice you saw that that and that
you know roast pork you know some lovely
garlicky green beans some lovely smashed
vegetables and stuff like that you know
a little applesauce brush some mustard
you know you can see what I’m trying to
say like just having different platters
is mixing it up a bit
using chopping boards if you go to any
flea market or even make your own
chopping boards go and get some old
floorboards glue them together jigsaw
out either
like me sand it down bit of olive oil
happy days I’ve made half of my chopping
board to home and then lovely lovely
lovely and they got character but you
know again you know you can have
something hot coming off the grill k
crack down sizzling pound here a nice
you know but you know garlic bread there
or flat bread or a see the lumper meat
that you’re carving on the thing so all
of this stuff a serve where boards bowls
platters
it’s helping you it’s helping you make
your table interesting whether it’s for
you your friends or just literally to
make serving it easier
