Merry Christmas food tubers I’m Carrie
Anne I’m going to show you a prawn
cocktail now this dish is one that we’ve
been having every christmas day for our
startup for my whole life I’m going to
show you how we make it and my mum made
it before me how my nan made it before
her let’s get started we’re going to
take some baby gem lettuces I like baby
gems because they’re quite crunchy
they’re quite crispy we’re going to
slice these can you see it’s called
coring it that’s not going to be very
nice to eat it’s gonna be quite bit
tough so we’re going to cut that off
just like that I sound a bit like Tommy
Cooper then just like so you can use
iceberg lettuce you can use romaine
whatever you like so we get that in a
bowl and then some cucumber little half
half moons so court moons so that’s a
whole cucumber some spring onions we’re
using spring onions because they’re not
as strong as normal onions they’re a lot
lighter so they just give you more of a
fragrance money rather than that luck
punch in the face and I like to use the
green parts a lot more than the white
parts or the simple reason white part is
really really oniony and then as you get
up it’s more calm down a bit more
relaxed we want to taste prom so we’re
just going to chop this up and I’m gonna
stop about here so just the white bits
left those are going to go in sprinkle
sprinkle sprinkle
I need a handful of cherry tomatoes I
use all different color ones okay there
you go very fingers it’s Christmas after
all and toss it over itself that is
beautiful now I’m gonna make the sauce
when you get fun cocktails and
restaurants and stuff they always talk
about Mary Rose or Mary Rose or whatever
it is no my house is pink sauce or as
the kids call it prawn sauce because
obviously they only know it with pork
buns
so we need a bowl some ketchup yes
ketchup people a nice big slob
so mayonnaise there’s no measurements
for this sauce I just make it until it
looks pink for how we have it stir stir
stir mix mix mix it Ematic Lee when I
smell that to me that says Christmas
lovely little bit of salt little bit of
pepper and lemon when you roll a lemon
it bursts all the little capsules so you
get twice as much juice the same price
not just a pretty face you know so
squeeze a little bit of lemon mix mix
mix see anyway enough of that let’s make
some for cocktails right so I’ve got my
glasses so we want a little bit of salad
make sure you get a bit of everything
if you’ve mixed it properly you will and
it I think it just looks really special
but I am a bit special now the hero of
the dish the Christmas star the prawns
ordinary cooked and peeled prawns from
the frozen section now don’t be stingy
we’re going to do it share it equally
make sure everybody gets a nice portion
doesn’t just look beautiful ready look
at it get our lovely pink sauce and
spoon it over the prawns don’t be shy
with the sauce either it’s good source
and we’ll masks watering already now we
need a pinch of paprika on the top and
some Limor witches seafood and lemon are
like best friends they like Christmas
and New Year and it just makes it a bit
lighter and a little bit more zingy for
the crowning glory their king prawn I’ll
show you I shall we put them headfirst
bumpers which one put him in there like
that so you know you can do all
different ways it makes no difference
there’s going to go down same ol in my
house you cannot have a form cocktail
without bread and butter so there you
have it my friends my family tradition
my family favourite prawn cocktail give
it a go let me know how you get on let
me know if you like it in the comments
