you know to be told when I sat down to
write a speech for this talk right here
I was faced with the most crippling
writer’s block ever has been known leads
to staring into the depths of darkness I
spent long shadows I even walked through
the streets and Hulu more like a lion
penguin searching for his mates with the
Antarctic wilderness inspiration ignore
me the most effective way to address
this gathering right here today will be
to take a trip down memory lane and read
to you the story of my life can share
with you the small lessons that are on
the way so let’s begin 1992 I was born
pretty much it 1996 at the age of four
my pregnant mother and I boarded a
flight to the United Arab Emirates we
moved into a twenty two bedroom
apartment with my father that we shared
with the family of four and thus began
in my life as a minimum mother’s
pregnancy she pulled back together and
her father nine were left unfinished
unsupervised for six months we turned
that apartment website and
a bachelor pad but truth be told I
didn’t speak much English
I was inverted sports I was in funny I
was in charming and enough friends to
add that I look like that
that’s right of you I came back to
school at 2:30 every day I had lunch
with my father after which she will head
straight back to work leaving me alone
all by myself
a fleet or ours at home after few days
he realized I was getting extremely
bored and restless unlike any good
father he found a solution
little did he know that this solution
nervous would actually change my life
and shape it and make me the person I am
today every day every single day
after work he would go to the local
video store the video library and you
can rent out a VHS cassette of movie for
me to watch next day religiously every
single day for the next six months I
watched a film at the age of five I
watched the kind of villains that no
five-year-old should ever watch a
politician Reservoir Dogs ancestors yeah
foreign language religiously develop
them in movies from all around the world
again in six months I exhausted the
collection of the video store 97 was
very specially after me because the 1997
God was kind enough to give me with a
nice young baby brother aunt Ella is
named Emma Bhishma I decided to call
papa over the next many years he could
work to become everything that I wasn’t
he was smart he was fun
he was RC he was talented he was really
good with the ladies
that’s us over the years our family
tradition of binge watching this movie
because we have many opposing opinions
about movies that we should have seen so
antennas brought down a very strict
wrong one movie during the weekend
that’s it
but going to the theater was a different
story altogether so back in the day in
the body one theater movie ticket one
way ticket would cost you anywhere
between 35 to 45 dollars for a local
minute house only like ours that was a
lot of money so you could only get to go
one movie once every three months
my brother and I made sure that we did
our research before selecting which can
be prevented for we would read magazines
as many as we would get we will watch
interviews at red carpet events on TV
remember tie up in action
yeah we use that a ton of trailers and
we watched it we studied them and we
make the most informed decision possible
and we finally convinced our first let’s
go to theater going there was a
pilgrimage to us we wake up 6 a.m. take
a nice long bath I would shave my
coronation
would even create a God he’s that’d be a
good move if you would get there half an
hour before the show times were Samaki
miss out on being in the trailers we
would get the best season outs exactly 5
rows from the back right in the center
optimized viewing experience it was our
temple and we loved it well other kids
run along playing catchy hook and you
know cops robbers and hide-and-seek
another night we got to get really fun
to make our own nests at home so we
picked out scenes from our favorite
films we could have music music in
we create these things at home using our
21 megapixels I draw point and shoot
camera
and remember this one have you guys seen
movie Camille yeah yeah
sweetie like that this is seen that
movie where Vikram beats up some
vertical infiltrate yeah we decided to
be better safe to say it wasn’t easy on
me but the end of that should we have
torn my t-shirt stupid sheets we
pillowcases and broke in one bed my
parents bed they were not not one bit
it was fun nonetheless as time went on
we got even more creative and decided
push the on over there filmmaking even
more remote our own scripts we shot our
site we condoms editing we have special
flex like nuts for the continent even it
was possible pretty soon all of our
family and friends you know in a minute
m2 entertainers join us alone and in
2007 we launched our own production apps
which we named elemental pictures we
were having the time of our lives
everything was going just fine that is
until 2008 April 2008 my brother started
experiencing excruciating headaches
which soon escalated into series of
epileptic fits as most each other yeah
department minutes at the hospital we
ran a few tests on the doctor
diagnosis upon my brother had malignant
brain tumor on the 7th of June 2008 he
pleased his last just like that my life
came to a grinding halt that fateful day
life taught me the first of many messes
and no one said it better and Forrest
Gump life is like a box of chocolates
you never know what you gonna get a
couple of months later before my final
perform his final final rites make new
back to Sharjah I was depressed severely
I couldn’t focus second work a capella
function it was the summer vacations and
I was known to leave the house through
it all I had a bunch of amazing families
who helped me get through I don’t know
why or how they got the idea that one
fine day my closest friends got together
came over to me bro let’s make a film
now and make a perimeter we shot it
edited it and placed it at the end of
three months it was a 13 minute film
named when the hell froze over was about
a bunch of underdogs who participate in
an underground football tournament and
it was absolute mess the next year we
decided to push it even further and this
time I would an 85 beats cleanly we took
since most shooted and the product was
just an amazing one-and-a-half our a
film which we thought was pretty cool we
named it death and resurrection show
again as you can see from here was a
huge fan of football so a lot of our
stories back things about football lucky
for me though I was the secretary of
students Thomas was like it convinced my
principal
let us show the film at the end of the
talent day on that particular year I
still remember that feeling an
auditorium filled with my schoolmates on
400 people watching powerfully with
bated breath
laughing kinding cheering on cue so ever
boss that afternoon when I came back
home of the school I said my parents
the next day they only fight but every
any ice cream you know every nasty
seventeen year old and a twelfth grader
may wanna Photoshop but my dad night we
had a face-to-face our first man-to-man
conversation I told him about you know
the death of goodness in chasing ones
to see by some of the best most
intellectual and talented people have
had the pleasure of knowing so over the
next four years of college I got my
first introduction to the amazing world
of theater yes of course I’ve done some
plays back in school but it was only my
first year in college I got to explore
the crowd of over the next four years
one major theater production of every
year and we started a movement to use
that medium of theater to collect money
to fund children’s education of the next
four years we put as many shows this is
an excerpt from One Flew Over the
Cuckoo’s Nest no horse shows were for
years and we connected close to eight
nights that we spend on
education that’s how I realized and art
is a powerful tool that can be used to
bring about actual positive social
change fast forward to 2014
I’m in China I’ve just joined
mercedes-benz and as a process
consultant as many of you know Chennai
has a very active here to see from the
best theater artists from around the
country help actually come from China
so nine-to-five job didn’t really stop
me from pursuing what I really wanted to
do so here’s what the schedule looks
like wake up at fight go to work get out
of work by 6:00 and to practice by 7:00
get back when you by midnight have
dinner sleep by 1 wake up at 5 the next
8 minutes and repeat for 2 years
my son difficult but it was pasta was
the best two years of my life for that
point so in a nutshell I was working two
jobs upside was that I was introduced to
the most amazing world of musical
theater now musical theater as an arm
pushes you to act dance and sing at the
same time which is easier said than done
I got the opportunity to play some truly
amazing characters I want to claim order
to do from babu-brother play appeal and
my personal favorites I got to play an
overly sexual female by the name of
Hennessy
yes that’s me that experience is a story
unto itself because played that
character taught me what it was like to
be faced with all of those weird
uncomfortable situations that women have
to go through on a day-to-day basis and
in keynote true story so before a show I
was backstage you know just getting
pumped up for the show and I’m doing my
vocal exercises and whatnot I see these
two poops dying at the site looking at
music my child I felt disgusted I felt
finally I felt naked and I decided to
teach these guys a lesson they were
shocked the reaction was precious and
probably scarred in my life at the end
of those two years I tell them I’m a
person mercedes-benz and decided to go
get an MBA from the Indian School of
Business in entertainment and media I
was getting with that
that was the plan for Kevin to you know
filmmaking that way but something
happened on one of my kids groups I got
a notification saying the auditions
happening or the speech in Mali are
going to be directed by an unknown
the Coalition did just that didn’t
really care for it after that a couple
of days later certain mr. Konishi
knowledge falls me out that’s him he
calls me up and he asked me to come down
to Ho Chi Minh for a face-to-face
meeting did that Tommy more rounds of
interviews and auditions and the rest is
history on this very day the 21st of
October 2016 under my first feature film
came out my life changed once again
salmon here today looking back at those
years of dreaming and working
relentlessly for that dream I finally
understand what Torre the fish from
finding a movement and she said just
keep on swimming
no matter what just someday the universe
the last few years have been very
interesting the last couple of years
I’ve got I got to meet some amazing
people I got the good fortune of having
to work on some projects and some not so
great projects anyone tasted pain I got
the love and hydration with people I
barely even knew as I walk down the road
and it was beautiful ladies and
gentleman and keeping moment I tell you
that Fame comes at a cost
some people feel that they are entitled
to tell you whatever they want to tell
so I have a habit of going to my social
media feeds and checking our messages in
a point there’s not a second not some
points mine I realized that I was
killing different hundreds of good hot
women loving messages of adoration and
getting online well that one message
that said Jenna please get a proper job
acting is not you suck that’s when I
realized that this was actually
beginning to take an emotional toll on
it was affecting me as a human key and
then universe and if it once again it’s
faulty I think the radio can you notice
the true story in the radio I heard a
song the lyrics of that song wind god is
great
beer is good but people are crazy
criticism my friends is a part of life
no matter what your profession you will
have to hear it but how do you deal with
that person and how you deal with the
people who criticize you that is what
defines you as an individual through it
all if there is one thing that I asked
myself before going to bed every night
it is this if I were to die today
whatever forget something and as long as
the answer to that question is no of the
other at the University friends is
speaking to each and every one of us and
I believe in this all you need to do is
listen it spoke to me in the dialogues
and movies lyrics and songs
and through my mother father and told me
just what I had to hear when I had to
hear it there are seven billion people
on planet Earth seven million if you
look closely know that we has many
bacteria germs
clapping right here what is the
difference between you and them between
us and that we as human beings my
friends have the power to create and
that is a gift
so draw shoot click stitch design code
build more compose what ever but if
there is one thing I want you to take
away from this talk is this please
create because your creation is yours
and yours only it’s every detail it’s
every flaw is a reflection of you and
that my friends is art so keep at it
work hard keep your eyes on the ball
[Applause] [Music]
