me advance in life as well as build and
shape my career today I’m going to share
with you my life story experiences and
how saying yes has sent my life into a
brand new direction all right so I think

my first love my first dream was to be a
model well growing up I a mom always
told me that oh I think you had what
they had potential to be a bottle
because you’re so much tall and long and
I agreed until all my friends he puberty
and started going taller than me but I
believe in what my mom said because my
mom is the most direct straightforward
person ever if you think that this is
ugly this is ugly but if you see
something in me I should probably
believe in her
so I for the thing is I enjoy posing in
front of the camera a lot let me show
you what I mean I have to quit even here
right in the making and then if it’s not
putting up what about this not that mom
for an eight-year-old girl ha ha so when
I was 18 years old a mom stumble upon
this advertisement in a newspaper this
search for another
model competition and I should ask you
to join us I don’t think I can do this
when if I think doing audition you know
I just I don’t sketch myself but I went
ahead so the model is that with me we
sign up I would say I saw a lot of girls
they were so tall
I felt intimidated and then I signed up
I paid a 100 ring in a submission fee
and then about a week later the
organizer called me like hey you got
selected you are one out of 100
candidates
well 11 is not top 13 to 15 but why not
100 I’ll take it you know I’ll take it
oh and then one week two weeks three
weeks a month no call updates whatsoever
and then soon enough I realized that it
was a cheers again the company closed
down and again get 100 we get back to me
when I was eight years old wondering it
is a lot lies like hundred thousand a
year so and then I kept trying I said my
proposed agencies like for casting
auditions but I never really gotten a
callback or someone’s I mean I guess
maybe even though that was my dream but
I probably didn’t have the x-factor to
be a supermodel but I learned I accepted
the fact and I moved on because I
believe when one door closes another
opens and then this leads me to knowing
that I am NOT what about you okay like
Oh Simon and then three years later my
friend contacted me and asked hey would
you each other to join is Teresa
Malaysia first question was I do miss
tepee I don’t one you know but you know
I don’t have to it’s free just need to
join because we are actually like of
contestants now would you like to just
join it for me together oh sure no
problem no one but I was actually
intimidated because I didn’t have the
best clothes dress gowns and I was when
I was there all the girls was so pretty
it’s books so well there are shoes were
like really high like 5 inches and I was
like there’s only two inches and they
were going
nice but a thing is I learned to have
fun along the way I made a bunch of
really quick friends we’re actually here
today to support me yeah uh-huh and I
never look like it thing is writing

many I was the best of the worst
I don’t know but I somehow made it and
then miss world Malaysia came it was a
kid my mom who again encouraged me to
join I don’t think you know this most of

in 2011 and won in 2012 2011 I did we
but I made it top five and then when
2012 and I miss my kid my mom asked me
like you don’t enjoy dinner I didn’t
think so low I don’t think I want to go
through that again
you know and she’s like oh you’re not
getting any younger you know yeah
turning 24 this year this is your lunch
of the past is bit if you don’t do it
you wanna get a chance next year maybe
you can consider mixes Malaysia instead
yeah that was pretty much so think about

whole rejection the whole failure thing
again and I realize that when people are
faced with failure they do not want to
go through that process again because
they are afraid of what people might

myself if I always care about what
people think of me I will always forever

think my combat of English is that great
because I come from a fairly Chinese
badly I speak Cantonese at home my
English was pretty lousy and always get
laughed at you know what I have but
pronounce certain words wrongly like
like a word Familia I used to pronounce
it yeah okay
you know when people now at you you
laugh it done to make things less
awkward yeah doctor whole thing I
realized my weaknesses and strengths I
remember the first time I posted I was
so scared nervous my palms are sweating
my heart was racing I thought I was
going to die yeah I’ve made a lot
mistakes the words in common right but
know what I learned and I try and who
knows like who would have known that
nine years down the road I am still
hosting making a living out of it and
then the main great Asia of Puccini came
up being the yes person that always have
been you will be surprised that when I
tell you this I actually say no multiple
times to join The Amazing Race Asia
because the first thing that came to my
mind was I will – hi I am NOT bitch now
how am I going to run you know and then
my best friend Chloe who eventually
became my part of the race told me that
hey the cash prize is 400,000
yes you sure you want to join as I
thinking like come on
but I will be away for a long time I
prefer how long I would have lost you
come and when I go on a race you’ll be
cut off from the rest of the world they
took away your phone and your money and
even if you aren’t like the first team
to be eliminated that you don’t get to
go home immediately
you have to stay to the end of the race
which picks for like a month and you
can’t go anywhere so I don’t want to do
this or not and then I thought to myself
if I didn’t say yes I would probably
forever think about it and I’m so glad
that I said yes and maybe like it’s
gonna be here election video got called
by and surprisingly really were one of
the eleven teams to join the race so
during the race we were so intimidated
because you are not the fittest all the
strongest and some of our male
counterparts actually told us straight
into our face that hey you know what we
were really surprised that you got
chosen
you know because you guys are not that
strong and then actually feel us to
perform even better during the race it
was really challenging not just like
physically but mentally is super
demanding just look at my face my face
was like this like throughout the entire
show because all the challenges that we
did was so hard look at the strength of
these bats rats I had to eat all that
doing one of the challenges I don’t know
how I do that but I just did it maybe if
if I was gasps ooh you know I need to
prove that I kind that I can do it and
beat you and I can see I was fighting
human bull that was the time I was so
intimated that in my life
you know they pushed me down they just
you know they just like lifted me and
threw me down in a muddy paddy field I
felt so powerless and could see that I
was broken at the end of the race and
then I don’t know how we pursue here
teamwork and then we eventually became
the first runner-up of The Amazing Race
and then later when all the recognition
that I got from Sarah Sarah I mean from
the Amazing Race this era came about so
when the friend who actually asked me
like hey do you want to be an influence
to help us to promote several if you

every day to look up or retailers like
maybe 50 a day like only one gets I or

really disheartened by just keep going

conditions and not attractive enough for

that and then soon enough we have more
retail that they are confident with our
concern and today it’s been a year we
have about 25 retailers knowledge I
think it’s pretty good because we are
growing and then most of you would think
that oh you know you’re going ahead has
it good if I should get so many which it
is just come knocking on of your but
that’s not true you know when you when
you don’t have opportunities presented
to you you create your own opportunities
and that was why like I’ve been
realizing my whole life it’s greater
than I am my own boss but sometimes you
don’t get jobs at all you don’t get
caught you don’t get calls to go for
custom an audition
so what do you do you create your own
door you create opportunities and that’s
how my first freelance job came about
when I was a mascot or it should lead I
was just looking online and I – what
happened some extra income and I got
this job saw but from my time to ten
who’s walking around handing out like
flying to people I think you put the
joint again and by advising stuff on
like Sonia your stuff so there was my
supposed to be on job and then I have my
own talk shop which gave me the
opportunity to be a model of my own you
know
but I modeled myself to save cause isn’t
that obvious and then I met John
protecting a bar
so from this for Malaysia I didn’t get
exposure guy needed I have to stay find
ways to expose myself to get more
visibility so that’s how a joint project
tikka our which because I want to stay
relevant and you know to grow my career
in the entertainment line so I try to
put your ticker arm it was very tough
because the show with in Malay and my
bar wasn’t great so doing the filming of
the show has trouble with behind so so
much debt you know I try so hard to
impress that the judges ended up not
understanding what I was saying you know
I used so many fantastic words even if I
myself couldn’t understand what’s my

I have so many male friends and my team
I’ma be a much better body laugh I would
