after almost two decades as a Backstreet
Boy he is striking out on his own hi I’m
Rebecca Brayton and welcome to
watchmojo.com and today we’re speaking
with Howie D about his debut solo effort
back to me tell us a bit more about the
solo I mean how long it’s been kind of
in the works I’m actually very very
proud and honored to be releasing my
first debut solo CD it’s titled back to
me
the first single is titled 100 I did a
really cool collaboration with this
company called music matrix
they helped me make the video and what
they do is now by people signing on to
the membership they can actually go in
and recreate the video they give them
editing tools to go in and insert
themselves in the video they can make
their own you know version of how they
like to make the video is a lot of that
behind-the-scenes footage of me making
the video they can ascertain there it’s
kind of a cool different interesting
concept that you know I think artists
nowadays you know coming out with news
projects you almost happen to think
outside of the box
the rest of the album we made over the
past actually start about five years ago
but really got heavily into it the past
year and it’s a mixture of me as a
Backstreet Boy kind of like there’s a
little bit of a euro dance-pop feel to
it it’s got a lot of energy music that
wants to get you up and have fun dance
whatever you might want to do there’s
definitely some you know the crooner
ballads that I’m known for I mean what
is it that you’re most excited about
about your solo album you know I’m very
excited for the chance for people to get
a chance to get to know me you know
Howie D has a solo artist as well you
know each of the Backstreet Boys we all
came from solo backgrounds and we’ve all
you know have an open-door policy you
know for everybody if they want to do
some individual stuff too you know we
give allow each other to spread our
wings you know I think within the group
they always hear like us and like little
bitty parts here and there and but for
them to actually hear me sing a song
from top to bottom it’s a really cool
experience for me to be able to feel
like I can stand on my own two feet and
carry my own weight as well
