guys I brought you out to the desert to
show you something amazing
these hook and loop fastening systems
like velcro are amazing it’s saving time
compared with zippers and laces but I’ve
got something else in mind for it so
what I want to do is test this strength
so I’ve made this rig over here come and
have a look at this right I’ve made this
construction using exactly the same
stuff on two big sheets of Steel right
and then what I want to do is just test
how strong this system is let’s see what
we can lift with it right now to see
just how much weight standard
hook-and-loop can take I’m attaching it
to the underside of two separate metal
plates one piece will be hanging from
this crane and the other attached to a
standing metal frame I’m going to press
these two pieces together and try and
lift the regular truck tire weighing in
at over 50 pounds remember that is just
the stuff you have on your sneakers on
your tennis shoes
right back down again alright my
question to you guys is simply this how
many human beings how many of us do you
reckon we can put on that before that
breaks look at the state of that face
what’s that all about what’s that I
don’t think it’s gonna be able to take
anything else you’re saying none right
to patented you everything to to to to
right let’s move up to four who st. boy
so four who here thinks you could
possibly get all of us on that yes so
hook-and-loop has taken over fifty
pounds of a truck tire but pushing this
a step further how many people can it
take is it no one up to two people up to
four people or all eleven of us
