the critically-acclaimed video game
franchise is about to get its own
three-part film series welcome to
watchmojo.com I’m your host Mike Patel
and today we’re talking with Yves
Simoneau the director of Assassin’s
Creed lineage
I am Giovanni Auditore and like my
ancestors before me I am an assassin
can you please tell us a bit about
lineage the short film series that’s
coming out for Assassin’s Creed 2 the
film is mainly coming ten years before
the game in the idea is to be more
knowledgeable about Asia which is the
star Berghain is family and mainly is
father you see a CEO ten years younger
and you start to understand where is
coming from what this family is about
and what is the double life of his
father
Xu remember you need to think ahead
don’t wait for your opponent to move
anticipate and surprise him how closely
has Ubisoft worked with Hybrid to
develop the series very closely we
didn’t fall in the trap to try to mimic
or do an iamb teaser you know of the
game we took the decision to really
prepare the ground for the people
knowing a lot more when and how the game
is going to start but during this
process obviously we had a lot of
communication with everybody from the
storyboarding and including out of the
engineering for importing out of the
background from the game in the film
software-wise we’re using some time the
same platform but not the same way and
it was a decent amount of communication
to get in a very short amount of time
the three episode will you be
incorporating these video scenes in the
third game they might hope that will be
more and more connected it’s not only to
exchange technology and to import a
background but you’ll also find
different way you know to tell a story
maybe the game is the future of film
which we will call interactive movies
are you expecting to do a feature film
in the future based on the success of
the lineage project we obviously have
some discussion and we’re more in a
brainstorm kind of stage we like to see
how this tree short movies are received
by the audience not only the gamer but a
larger public thank you very much we’re
very excited to see it my pleasure
I need you to assist your brother take
care of the family
I want to help your father it had been
more than you know it soon
more than you
