WA Finalist | National Geographic Bee 2011

hi and Arjun
2011 national GOP
if you were to come to Washington State
you’d find a whole variety of wonderful
beautiful things including mountains
rivers plateaus deserts and even rain
for us that’s why Washington State is
called the evergreen state for example
over here are the Cascade Mountains so
he’s still keeping their snow even
though they burrow and right now I’m
standing over the tote River one of many
rivers in western Washington where as
salmon come to spawn every fall okay
National Geographic did you know that
the guaira falls in South America used
to be the largest falls in the world
with an average flow rate that is 30
times bigger than Niagara Falls it was
submerged in 1982 by the e-type ooh dam
reservoir when I grow up I want to find
a way to harness wave energy so we’ll
have something to supplement our
reliance on oil if I could trade places
with any world leader ouches moammar
gadhafi wife our him I’ll step down
immediately and give power to the people
behind me is Isabel creek or the many
rivers where the salmon come to spawn in
the fall one of the places that I want
to go is the Galapagos Islands with this
rich biodiversity and of course the
Galapagos giant tortoise if I were put
in charge of the world for just one day
the problem that out tackle first is our
reliance on oil I would devote a lot
more money to finding alternative fuel
sources we paint green means composting
composting and even more composting at
our school we have a composting program
that turns paper plates and food into
lots and lots of new soil and we never
use any chemicals on a grass because we
have a pet rabbit she ate that that
would be a really big problem
one of my favorite ways of studying
geography is using oka pedia after all
no one really vandalizes a page about a
river or a mountain I’ll use Wikipedia
to look up places that I don’t know
about and find out the locations of
places my favorite geography fact is
that the capital of Tonga is nuku’alofa
I just love that name
