catching up with winter sleep
we often like to start with the origin
stories of the bands were interviewing
so why don’t you tell us how would you
sleep originated I guess yeah we started
in in Nova Scotia in Halifax and we all
kind of moved up there to go to school
and stuff we started doing some
recordings and in lolz bedroom yeah it
kind of just started out of that and
then be accorded a record recruited a
bass player and later on I met up with
these these two fellows and kind of
started being more of a rock band that
it comes to bedroom and I guess
how would you say the band’s music has
evolved since the beginning every record
seems to be a bit different for sure I
mean they’ll still sound like us but I
think he’s each record has a different
kind of vibe and that has definitely
evolved and probably will continue to it
as well as we’re a band as time goes on
you just exposed tomorrow more music so
maybe that helps to just your palette
broadens your tastes broaden
if you had to describe your music for
someone who’s never heard it what would
you say I’ve always had always had a
habit of lots of it would be well played
in different bands together in a part as
well and they in that question team to
come up a lot I always to say rock music
but it was not I didn’t mean it’s
certainly not just lots of but dynamic
shifts and our music so it’s like so if
you were to hear one song mercy like a
couple songs live maybe they see
something like an older sonic nerves
normal which is like more of a lengthier
song with like some jam year parsons
really loud and stuff like that but
versus song with maybe like from oakland
that’s not a Kazakh search party or
something it’s a lot more like condensed
and more of just like a quieter song in
the first place so you know I mean it’s
like kind of hard to just describe it
and like a nutshell
why don’t you tell us about a few of the
kind of huge acts that you’ve been
blessed to perform with or will be
performing this I guess bigger names
like McCartney and Pearl Jam a long time
ago but yeah that was really that was
really fun well we didn’t even get to
see McCartney because we had to end and
leave and get on a flight to be in
dublin the next day for her festival so
that was kind of a bummer but we got to
meet him yeah there’s knee nice man he’s
a gentleman sure done he bonded with
Mike or a basis cuz he’s a bass player
miles so they understand yes I’ll space
players gotta stick together it’s a damn
