number one overall pick he ends up going
to the New York Giants in a trade
Phillip represents up going to San Diego
and in the present-day Eli Manning has
Super Bowls Ben Roethlisberger who was
also in that drafting could have been a
giant has Super Bowls Phil Rivers does
not have a super 0 he has zero but in an
alternate universe let’s talk about if
Eli Manning was still a San Diego
charger the timer starts now first
question is Eli Manning anywhere a
successful Chargers uniform as he is now
in a New York giant I think so because
at that time the Chargers had a pretty
young court LaDainian Tomlinson Antonio
Gates this and Jackson a pretty solid
all-mountain the car with being the the
frontier that attack of theirs and you
look at the defense it was pretty good
I’ll be with them moving on from juniors
say out but like I thought that team
considering what they had the Raiders
are going downwards the Broncos and
cheese warned the elites but there were
good teams San Diego with Eli Manning
could have been a dangerous team in the
NFL and could have been competing with
the Patriots for trips to the big game
multiple times it’s kind of crazy
because a lot of we were talking about
how Eli Manning is like not necessarily
an elite quarterback in this present day
but because of the fact that he’s had
the success he had with the Giants
winning those Super Bowls he could be
seen as someone who actually takes the
Chargers over the top with that court
out
Antonio Gates there as well a lot of
great players on that roster and and and
the fact that you know he beat Brady in
those Super Bowls that’s a guy who could
if he meets up with him in the AFC
Championship game that could happen and
he could win them but you know what but
know how crazy this is because of all
that in this alternate scenario we’ve
created here we could see a situation
where Eli Manning is almost undisputably
better than his brother people which is
weird because Peyton is this
quarterbacking mind yeah like the rings
are the thing right at 42 when they went
that in recomment 2005 right or 2006
whatever was at the time they lost the
Patriots at home two plows Eli Matty me
the Patriots as you made the point
before not once but twice
maybe they jumped them and maybe were
talking about the San Diego Chargers
being the Lombardi champions that’s
really crazy to think and again I can’t
I can’t escape the fact that Eli Manning
with probably winning about the same
amount of Super Bowls as a charger as he
has with the Giants could easily you
know derail some of breathe Super Bowl
he probably saw us three or four but
Aten Manning I think it’s the biggest
loser in all of this because of the fact
that you know because Eli Manning is
obviously up in the NFC he has his
battles with Brady he gets a better but
not some points for the Super Bowl but
Eli Manning with the team that he has a
stacked as it is there’s a good chance
that Peyton Manning might not go to a
Super Bowl because of his brother Eli
yeah I think there’s a chance and as a
result of that Eli would be better than
Peyton and maybe Peyton just says you
know what I’ll just be better than you I
in a broadcasting booth who knows do
that let’s go to question number two
what if the New York Giants stuck to
their guns and said you know what we’re
taking Ben Roethlisberger at fourth
overall instead of Philip Rivers what do
you think happens to Ben’s career well
that’s funny story right Big Ben was
supposed to go to the Giants they told
him Ernie our cozy who was the gym at
that time for the Giants said we’re
gonna take your number four it was last
second when the tray came up for Philip
Rivers forty live Manning I love Big Ben
cold at the altar pretty much here with
no ones that drop until Pittsburgh did
later on in the first round but if he if
that had happened though I don’t think
it worked out well because Big Ben
wasn’t like Eli Manning who was who was
secure the football smart football big
band was that kind of that loves to
improvise which does not bode well or
does not mesh flow Tom Coughlin who’s
that
in no 405 so I think this would have
been okay but not the great lengths that
they went to with Eli and Maddie when
they won and owns a tune of course in
2012
oh no I disagree III and I think with a
quarterback you know speak quarterback
strictly speaking with Ben
Roethlisberger as talented as he is yeah
a guy with the roster in place of like
Jeremy Shockey Tiki Barber Jeremy
Shockey those are some lunch pail guys
on that team and I think Ben
Roethlisberger could easily be that guy
on that squad to confusion that identity
and I think the Giants are still able to
win those Super Bowls with it in theory
like you should be able to do that if
they come to a point where there’s
cement we have butting heads here the
fact that the Giants invest so much in
the top pick I don’t know you have to
get someone who could mesh with that
here’s the thing though Julian at that
time right this small school quarterback
wasn’t really you know the in thing
right Miami of Ohio wasn’t the Ole Miss
that Eli Manning went to so people were
kind of skeptical is Big Ben gonna
translate well to the next level and we
see now he has absolutely for sure let’s
go to question number three Phillip
Rivers what happens to him where does he
go what happens well that’s great
question right we suppose he would go to
Pittsburgh right but I think some would
have probably jumped out to get Phillip
Rivers because at that time he was

had he slept beyond the Giants I think
some would have paid a boatload to get
him but I think if he ends up in the

the quarterback then so I think at that
time it might have been a good fit but
maybe there be more success later on in
his career
