funny connected and infectiously happy
these pop rockers are as close to their
fans as ever hi I’m Rebecca Brayton and
welcome to watchmojo.com we got the
chance to visit warp tour this year and
catch up with we the kings
tell us a bit about small kids any big
departures there would you say a third
of the record was kind of like check yes
juliet 2 point 0 and secret valentine to
point of skyway avenue all again for you
to point out like all the favorite songs
from the first record and then we tried
to do something that was like a little
more of what who we are now but without
losing like the upbeat and the energetic
kind of style yeah the positivity that
we that we try to pawn off as as the
style of music that we play and then and
then a third of it was just we tried new
stuff like it was song called in and out
which doesn’t sound like a we the kings
song at all and it’s really cool because
when you’re listening to a record it
doesn’t sound like the same song on
repeat and I thought that was a really
cool thing that we could do for smile
kid

did that all come together
we made
waging
we’ve always said that we wanted like a
kind of like a duet kind of song we
thought this one would be the best for
it and I we met Demi was about two years
ago in LA she came to show and we met
her traps Hayden really good contact
with her through like you know phone
text message whatever hit her up just
like would you like to do this song
we wanted to have it be someone that was
a friend we could have hit up other
management’s from all these other
singers who are incredible and just been
like hey we do the song for us but we
wanted to you know we wanted it to be
natural and she ended up sounding
amazing lyrically we just kind of wanted
to kind of like show the song is like an
appreciation to all our fans who stood
by her side for so long they’re the
reason that our dream came true and we
thought would be cool to write a song
kind of about you know our appreciation
