be looking at video games that we
consider to be pretty good which saw a
negative or mediocre critical reception
upon release granted these games aren’t
perfect but we just feel they deserve
[Applause]
number five monster hunter freedom
while it’s true that monster hunter
freedom didn’t receive awful reviews 71
on Metacritic is basically a death
sentence for a video game and let us
tell you this game deserves a lot better
critics agree – the game looked and
played well but they took major points
off for it’s slow pace and its reliance
on multiplayer I guess they weren’t
really used to Monster Hunter back then
while it’s true that the Monster Hunter
series would perfect itself down the
line we still believe that this game was
a welcome change and a great path
clearer for the series’s future life on
handheld consoles to have this kind of
experience on the PSP in 2006 was
actually pretty incredible number 4
we don’t know what critics have against
Kirby but they must have some sort of
grudge against him for giving a ride
such a ridiculously low score
Kirby’s air ride served as Kirby’s
iteration of Mario Kart as you race
against characters from the kirby series
while using various powers it contains a
surprising amount of content including
the awesome city trial mode the music
kicked ass and the raising is definitely
a blast with friends critics on the
other hand found the game too easy and
repetitive especially when compared to
similar racers we got to agree that it’s
no Mario Kart but your ride is still fun
come on
number three the evil within PC release
Metacritic score 68 okay so the console
release have the evil within secured
fairly respectable reviews of 79 and 75
but the PC release was completely
destroyed by critics resulting in the
significantly lower score of 68 now
what’s true is that the PC release was
heavily criticized for its technical
issues and super low framerate as the
game was locked at 30fps this was
eventually fixed but it briefly made the
experience worse as the already
difficult game became for the light
impossible due to faster enemy attacks
okay but after the patching or even
before it cuz you know you can play the
game at 30fps the evil within was a
perfectly fine game which while not
perfect definitely deserved better than
number two line craft Pocket Edition
Metacritic score 53 most mobile ports of
popular games are downgraded in some
capacity either in the graphical
Department or by altering the gameplay
in some considerable way therefore
unlike most critics we weren’t entirely
disappointed with a mobile version of
Minecraft critics viciously attacked it
as they felt that the Minecraft
experience wasn’t properly translated
for the mobile market while it’s true
that the games early released saw
significant alterations and omissions
from the PC version it was still a fun
and harmless mobile experience recent
additions have made the game even better
too so we kind of believe that it
deserves a critical re-evaluation
[Music]
there is clearly a huge discrepancy
between the critics and the gamers when
it comes to warframe not only is there a
huge gap in the critic and user scores
on Metacritic it’s also one of the most
popular games on Steam indicating that
there is a huge fan base despite what
the critics may have thought the game
received mixed reviews at best with many
critics stating that it provided a
promising start but not enough substance
or depth to be considered a great king
what the Metacritic score does not take
into account however is how much the
game has evolved and improved since
launch warframe gets better with every
patch in update so at this point the
meta score is basically invalid do you
