Top 5 Games That Failed As eSports!

look not every game has to become a
competitive sport welcome to
watchmojo.com and today we’re counting
down our picks for the top five games
that failed as eSports definitely a huge
thing for this game as we’re flying
around in zero gravity in a kind of a
new situation for us before we begin we
publish new videos every day so be sure
to subscribe for more great content for
this list we’re not looking at games
that are boring to watch or anything but
games that tried a little too hard
during development to break into the
eSports scene and then fell flat on
their face you want to now number 5
commanded conquer for Tiberium Twilight
so the ferati of ways to win but it’s
not just killing the other guy it’s
objective-based though you can kill the
other guy will help you win and the
bigger the thing you kill the more
points you get
realtime strategy games have always had
a place in eSports thanks in part to
games like Starcraft actually mostly
thanks to games like Starcraft just it’s
just thanks to Starcraft anyway a game
from the command & Conquer series which
once had a pretty major foothold in pro
gaming should be a shoo-in right well
yeah if you hadn’t gone and changed the
games core elements you see Tiberium
Twilight opted to increase the pace of
the game which ultimately backfired
critics and fans have gone to say that
Iberian Twilight had changed the formula
so much that it’s barely anything like
the series is past titles and that
ladies and gentlemen is how you kill a
beloved franchise let alone fail to be
in eSports

number four lawbreakers
[Music]
okay we’ll admit that law breakers looks
cool and all but it’s quickly falling
victim to the same issue that many other
Dame’s have we already have some hero
shooters I mean we already have
overwatch we already have Team Fortress
2 there is also paladin’s and
unfortunately the game has come out at a
time when hero shooters have been kind
of oversaturated and everyone’s trying
to cash in we admire the confidence in
Game Director Cliff Bleszinski on
keeping the game alive but with a low
player base and too many other
competitors lawbreakers might not be
around much longer
[Music]
number three evolved
[Music]
team based games tend to be at the
center of eSports with games like
counter-strike and League of Legends
requiring communication and cooperation
so how exactly do you keep an eSport
balanced when a game is one against four
well someone out there must have tried
to figure out the bracket issues that
confusion aside evolve is just not as
appealing of an eSport as many of the
other mainstream titles which have
concepts that viewers can get ahold of
quickly and are just prettier to look at
months after the game was announced to
be transitioning to a free-to-play model
in 2016
– Kade basically just ended support for
the title don’t expect evolve to anytime
soon
Goliath just continuing to pound away
sending up a huge assault on the know oh
you sure number two umbrella core well
we’re about to watch some umbrella cores
gameplay here we have the Bravo on Alpha
Team getting suited up for battle some
good gear you’re gonna wear that oh my
god no no no no no no no no this this is
all wrong Resident Evil does not need a
place in competitive gaming Capcom swore
a series have come to be known as some
of gaming’s most scary titles so as this
series try to translate into an eSport
well in this case it really can’t
umbrella court quickly became a
run-of-the-mill team-based FPS only with
added zombies for a bit of variety
what’s worse is that umbrella core was
plagued with technical issues – and its
gameplay was too chaotic for anyone to
follow at least the series has gone back
to its roots now but man this is
embarrassing
number one infinite crisis your universe
is not alone we really haven’t seen a
potential eSports title flop as hard as
this one allowing players to take
control of their favorite DC heroes and
villains this MOBA suffers not just from
a generic formula but also from
releasing into an oversaturated market
just like umbrella core and law breakers
there’s already League of Legends dota 2
heroes of the storm smite and that’s
just naming a few players just aren’t
interested even if they get to play as
Batman or Supergirl
with a very low player base Infinite
Crisis was forced to shut down its
servers merely 5 months after its
release our DC favorites deserved more
and a lot of people were let down
