[Music]

these minigames aren’t much of a party

welcome to watchmojo.com and today we’re

counting down our picks for the top 10

worst Mario Party minigames before we

begin we publish new videos every day so

be sure to subscribe for more great

content for this list we’re looking at

the worst of the worst Mario Party

minigames from the boring to the

infuriating and everything in between

[Music]

number 10

quaint Aegis Mario Party 7 most of your

time in Mario Party is hitting dice

blocks earning are losing coins and

ending friendships it stops being named

Mario Party game when a minigame is

built to have no losers and such is the

case for quaint Aegis where everyone

just spends time hitting a dice block in

getting up to three coins with each jump

wow it’s really great to see you intend

on getting those creative juices flowing

seriously don’t we spend enough time

doing stuff like this hitting dice box

and getting coins come on number nine

move to the music Mario Party – it’s our

first one versus three minigame on the

list and spoilers it won’t be the last

one player assigns buttons to a series

of notes displayed at the bottom of the

screen the other three must memorize and

copy the buttons but the notes are

sporadically divided for something that

is at its core a Simon Says game this

does not give the solo player much of an

opportunity to try and win however all

four players won’t find themselves at

odds with each other but with the mini

game itself due to its pickiness on

timing did we mention those voice lines

are also incredibly obnoxious number

[Music]

what can you expect from the first Mario

Party on the Wii system other than all

together now motion controls this dual

tasks to players with tipping a board to

correctly sort green and pink orbs you

know something that really gets the

party going as the timer progresses so

does the speed of the orbs dropping wait

what in the hell look how fast they’re

going

yeah this really does not take normal

number seven day at the races Mario

Party – nobody likes losing – bad luck

it always feels like you’re getting

cheated out of a potential victory well

if you lose anyways day at the races

is precisely that though players take

turns choosing a character they think

might win the race yeah they take turns

which means that if you’re the unlucky

one who gets slim pickins chances are

you’re gonna lose anyway to make things

worse your character moves at random

intervals you and your friends might be

yelling at the TV for your picks to win

but in the end your consolation prize is

pure rage hope you weren’t screwed over

too much on your coins

number seven piranhas pursuit Mario

in this one versus three minigame the

solo player must escape a terrifying

piranha plant which is being spat out by

the other three players as they

ground-pound on a rain cloud because

that’s how it works

anyway this minigame is the very

definition of a fruitless endeavor the

solo player can easily keep matching the

a button while hitting every obstacle

and still win if that’s the case then

what the hell’s the point of even

participating although the bigger

question here is how did this broken ass

game make it into the Mario Party top

100 game number 5 flip the chimp Mario

Party 8 what better example of motion

control gimmicks then flip the friggin

chimp a zoo Kiki slowly climbs to the

top of a tree players must tilt their

Wiimote to the right or left to avoid

falling coconuts okay so what the hell

is this game is supposed to be most

minigames require some sort of skill or

strategy this is the equivalent of

watching paint dry you’re just sitting

there occasionally tilting your

controller it’s a mine number at best

and a total snoozefest it worse

[Music]

anyone else noticing a pattern with the

games here mario has had some decent

racing minigames across the series some

more fun than others

but there are none as intolerable as

runner madness which sees you careening

down a raging river of mud and rocks

okay actually that’s what we wish it was

this minigame is so boring that it

becomes a huge buzzkill for basically

anyone if we wanted to compete in one is

essentially a snail race we would have

been partying with the Rabbids number

three the beat goes on Mario Party three

the Mario Party series has been no

stranger to rhythm minigames every entry

has at least a few to add some variety

however this one is a total bust four

players take turns memorizing a shy

guy’s drum beats for up to sixteen notes

yeah as you can guess this one takes

like an eternity to finish it gets

quicker when it comes down to two

players but if both succeed until the

end the game ends in a draw so you

basically just wasted a solid five

minutes to win ten measly coins number

two crane game Mario Party and Mario

Party 2 there are some people who

believe that these crane machines at the

arcades are completely rigged allow

Mario Party to reinforce that belief

three players sit idle on the floor

while one player freely grabs one of

them and steals a lot of their coins

their only defense is to mash a button

to wiggle out of the solar players

clutches this game was really unfair due

to how unlikely it was for the selected

victim to escape when it was reworked in

the sequel the crane player had to grab

all three players in order to win but

had plenty of time to do so due to the

presence of extra timers so yeah it’s

rigged but the other way from the one at

the arcades

[Music]

before we unveil our top pick here are a

few dishonorable mentions

[Music]

number one tug-of-war paddle battle

it’s not often that you come across a

four-way tie on one of our lists but

trust us these minigames are more than

deserving of that dishonor this list has

featured minigames that are boring

frustrating or complicated but so far

none of them have caused legal or health

issues however these four minigames had

players rapidly rotating their analog

stick which gave players everywhere cuts

blisters and lacerations once the New

York State Attorney General’s Office

investigated Nintendo was forced to send

out 80 million dollars worth of

protective gloves on top of paying off

the costs of the investigation this is

do you agree with our picks check out
