it’s a doozy – number 10 the Elder
Scroll 3 morrowind xbox vietnam i am
watching you have being chosen but that
was well into the development of the pc
version of their latest elder scrolls
title when they announced that an xbox
version was also on the way the xbox
release was delayed and skeptics began
to doubt the festive ability to deliver
an Elder Scrolls title on a home
consoles more limited everything when
the game finally did see an Xbox release
it was pretty much exactly as everyone
expected bad the graphics were
downgraded video distance was limited
and still the frame rate was terrible a
controller was also no match for the
game’s elaborate and demanding user
interface makes you navigating to the
RPG mechanics as painful as navigating
the volcanic wastes of themself and
nowhere near as good look hey you never
tire in your Mountain
I will seek out should I need you one
game number nine Carmageddon 64 Nintendo
64
in the late nineties PC gamers adored
the original Carmageddon and sequel
reveling in the sadistic pleasure of
reducing pedestrians to piles of goop
a couple of years later three abysmal
hybrid ports crashed through the series
best assets with titus software yes the
infamous company behind superman 64
publishing the particularly horrific EDS
absorbers
although the ability to compete in a
race in three different ways survives
the number of environments is slashed
Comic Sans is used for text and the
original key attractions the gore factor
inexcusably tones down at least
apparently it’s been toned down the
graphics are so claps that it’s
impossible to say with certainty what
those green smudges really
number eight far cry vengeance Nintendo
Wii if the original far cry it’s Xbox we
make and this we version of that remakes
expansion we’re some sort of FPS family
could it obviously be the runt of the
litter
the initial titles absorbed you in a
brutally gorgeous tropical world filled
with intelligent AI enemies possessing
realistic combat tactics while the Wii
version could barely maintain its
cardboard cutout graphics at a playable
framerate henchman also now struggle to
process life-threatening stimulus making
it probably the worst example of
terrible AI in the franchise seriously
this manages to be worse than Ebola 2008
Far Cry movie that’s saying something

number seven command & Conquer n64 RTS
games have always struggled to find a
place on home consoles and this n64 port
of a four year old title no matter how
good it originally was has a little
chance for bucking that trend two years
before the n64 version was released he
Red Alert prequel sub series had
improved the franchise and been
successfully ported to the PlayStation
making the decision to port to folder
title to the n64 kind of redundant to
Looking Glass Studios credit their port
functions smoothly in full 3d and the
adaptive the complicated control systems
quite coherent Lee but FMVs removes no
multiplayer and no attempts to include
the features that were in later titles
skirmish mode would have been ideal here
you keep absolutely nothing to give us
who played any RTS before we are about a
mile or greater special agent number six
x-men vs. Street Fighter Playstation
[Music]
the Sega Saturn did score many victories
against the PlayStation yet the port of
peace crossover fighting title was one
occasion when it has the right to gloat
at it Sony rival the Saturn’s version
was nearly identical to the one played
in arcades while the Playstations
hardware limitations forced a number of
changes that would destroy the essence
of the game the game’s biggest feature
the ability to tag in and out bid battle
was gone
making the team-up elements almost
entirely superficial we suppose that the
2d fighting mechanics are still decent
as long as you can ignore a sloppy
unattractive desaad with constant slow
down and really bad audio quality fun
stuff
number 5 Ultra Street Fighter 4
PlayStation 4 following Street Fighter 4
is released in 2008 Capcom had been on a
seven-year mission to iterate a fighting
formula that many consider to be
flawless
Ultra update had already successfully
added new mechanics and characters on PC
and 7th gen Hardware decks the ps4 port
developed by other ocean interactive and
touted as the game’s definitive edition
by Sony definitely threatened to spoil
its final hurrah
glitches lag and questionable balancing
made a mockery of the games name to such
an extent that tournament organizers at
Evo 2015 were forced to use the Xbox 360
edition instead ouch
[Music]
number four SimCity 2006 Saturn well
here we are again yet another complex
title forced onto a console regardless
of its complexity
best of luck Sega Saturn the gameplay
from will rights PC classic is
fundamentally unaltered yet the
previously crisp graphics aren’t now
really murky making it tricky to see the
minutiae of your settlement your urban
sprawl is further obscured by a chunky
sidebar which is a tolerable issue at
first but when your saves population
grows and the notorious slowdown
problems begin a recipe for disaster is
definitely brewing there’s also only
room for one saved in the Saturn’s
internal memory showing just how
ill-equipped Sega’s console was for sin
city’s insistent calculations number
three do three do
[Music]
after its software released their
pioneering FPS in 1993 every system got
a piece of the doom pie resulting in a
selection of ports with varying degrees
of quality the 3do version is often
mocked as the devil of all doom ports
and while it gets some leeway for its
laughably short development cycle and
surprisingly great soundtrack the
abysmal framerate and tiny screen size
justify comparisons to save themself
it’s the little optimization and
inclusion of full maps or multiplayer it
could have been genuinely good cut and
on top of that if you bought this game
you were already probably stuck with the
3do so you have bigger problems
[Music]
number two dead rising chop till you
drop
Nintendo Wii if Frank West could have
seen what’s become of his Xbox 360 title
certainly have a few snarky comments
lined up in this wee adaptation aimed at
the casual gamer Frank can’t take photos
the 72-hour limit is gone and to
accommodate the emphasis on generic
gunplay the zombie horde is noticeably
lower while casual fans probably
appreciated this stress-free gameplay
those who’d experienced the original
felt it chopped out elements of freedom
and tension that made the series you
know good before we reveal our top pick
let’s have a look at the dishonorable
mention you and I once fucked the Jew
upon the cloud
[Music]
number one pac-man Atari 2600 with a
simple concept and simple aesthetic
design porting the definitive arcade
title of the 1980s should have been a
simple job
how Atari contrived to create this
flickering monstrosity then is a mystery
that can only tell us about the state of
the industry at the time in an attempt
to get into stores for the holidays they
pumped out a game mat even for the Atari
2600 notoriously low standards feels
like an early beta build with little
intention to do anything but profit from
Namco phenomenon the whole package will
inevitably fill you with revulsion and
although we probably don’t need to tell
you this you were better off playing any
other title from the amount of shameless
pac-man clones
do you agree with our picks check out
