game to game and light has become one of
the staples of the series and has grown
into a father figure for Megaman let’s
just be thankful that his creation
doesn’t look like the guy on the boxart
of the original Mega Man you must go
after him we don’t know who he is and
dangerous to leave him alone number 9
the king of Red Lions The Legend of
Zelda the Wind Waker
in this Zelda game link would have
gotten nowhere without this guy we mean
that literally because he’s a boat well
kinda
this wise creature shows up two words
the beginning of Link’s adventure and
helps him travel the world in his quest
to defeat Ganondorf in the game’s third
act we discovered that he’s actually
Daphna snow honson hyrule the king of
hyrule and that tetra is really the
current incarnation of princess zelda
his heroic act helped link to bring
peace back to the world and provide him
with a somewhat fatherly figure which is
refreshing for a boy who has so much on
his plate
number eight Michael de Santa Ram kept
auto-5 that’s a 9-millimeter
semi-automatic pushed against your skull
that look around we just keep driving
where you’re going despite meeting in a
less than ideal situation
Michael is immediately impressed with
Franklin and takes him under his wing
the duel makes up two of the games three
playable characters and Michael’s
tutelage is essential to Franklin’s
rising up the ranks of the complex Los
Santos crime scene throughout the game
hey you did good kid what’d I tell you
Lester huh their relationship inspires
Michael to return to crime after faking
his death and changing his name which
causes his past to catch up with him
putting the two into many dangerous
situations still these two anti-heroes
come out on top and rule the world of
organized crime unless of course you
decide to betray him but come on no one
really did that right number seven Oran
Final Fantasy 10 now is the time to
shape your stories your fate is in your
hands
Titus may have been the protagonist of
the game but his mentor Oran really sold
a show after guiding the player through
the game’s prologue he leaves the
picture for a while before making an
epic return and permanently joining the
party
as the team embarks on their pilgrimage
to put a stop to the destructive sin or
an offer sagely advice as he previously
took the journey with Titus’s father his
skills in combat and dry demeanor make
him the party’s MVP he proved so popular
that he’s the only final fantasy
character to date to become a proper
party member in the spin-off series
Kingdom Hearts this is my story and do
you’re not part of it number six
Professor Hershel Layton Professor
Layton series look at my boy do you
really think I would take on such an
ordinary request is that the video game
equivalent of Sherlock Holmes Hershel
Layton is a brilliant professor in
archaeology made indubitably more badass
by his mystery solving skills I can’t
shake the feeling that this matter is
linked to some larger mystery a
complicated and tragic history has
compelled him to be gentlemanly and
moralistic using his intelligence for
the greater good he takes on a young boy
named Luke as his protege and their
relationship is at the core of this
puzzle solving series as Luke grows from
a naive boy into a talented detective
Layton quickly made an impact on gaming
culture and has fast become a classic
video game character those who attended
the reading of the will immediately set
out in search of the Golden Apple but in
the end everybody came back empty-handed
number 5 vesemir The Witcher series
bring our young damsel to the lower
courtyard she wants to practice she’ll
get to practice he may not be the
series’s titular witcher but without him
the group wouldn’t be as it is des Amir
is the oldest living Witcher since he is
the only survivor of an attack on their
key that happened prior to the series
story time to wake up master these
lessons so boring they put
damnit after taking notes on ghouls and
al Ghul’s wanted to arrest my eyes when
the player-character Geralt awakens in
care mourn with amnesia he teaches in
various skills and filled him in on his
past setting the series off to a witch
and start he passes off the knowledge of
the ancient guild of monster slayers to
the younger generation of hexes keeping
the northern kingdom safe his importance
to the games mythology really can’t be
overstated and that’s what earns him his
place here stop talking for a minute and
give me the letter about that it does
smell of lilac and gooseberries number 4
David Anderson Mass Effect series Trevor
I was hoping you to check it again the
original captain of the SSV Normandy and
a veteran of the first contact war
Anderson chooses Commander Shepard as
his executive officer at the outset of
the first game eventually he steps down
and gives his ship to the
player-character
but continues to provide advice and
guidance and by the events of the third
game he would end up leading the
resistance against the Reapers on earth
he’s the reason any of us are still
alive let’s not start handing out medals
just yet this fight is just getting
started one of the series most important
characters he’s also appeared in various
other media for the series including his
own prequel novel it’s easy to
understand why the player would take him
on as a mentor as he serves with honor
and integrity throughout the trilogy I
knew you would not be down Shepard
it’s good to see number three me Fa Ace
Attorney series this mentor is a bit
unusual considering that she is murdered
shortly after the game’s first trial
fortunately she comes from a family of
mediums so she is succeeded by her
sister with whom she shares a psychic
bond to Maya who becomes the
protagonists new assistant Nia is able
to share clues and hints with Phoenix
from the afterlife providing vital help
to her ex employee this highly virtuous
lawyer inspires her apprentice to
continue her work representing even the
most hopeless cases as long as she
believed in them it thanks to her that
we have this hero that we can all get
behind with no objections number two the
boss Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater jack
is that you how many years is it then
boss that’s right
it’s me the story of this mentor-protege
relationships is one of the saddest ones
on this list and our last entry was
about some lady who got murdered after
being involved in a hydrogen bomb test
snake becomes the boss’s apprentice
learning how to become the talented
mercenary commander he was known as
I love – I’ve given you weapons taught
you techniques endowed you with
knowledge at the games beginning the two
are on a mission together but she
betrays her team defecting to the USSR
and throwing snake off of a bridge this
plot twist sees the instructor become
the game’s antagonist in one of the most
emotional storylines of the series
despite the respect they have for each
other they are forced to have a tragic
faceoff by the game’s end and that’s
what makes this relationships so unique
and effective
there’s only growth one boss and once
before we unveil our top pick here a few
honorable mentions I trust you will
retrieve what has been lost lost the
Templars stole two precious odd get
ready to study hard back this is called

number one Victor Sully Sullivan
uncharted series know what I love about
partying with a bunch of crooks what’s
that
nobody cares if you smoke indoors
someone like Nathan Drake doesn’t become
the brilliant archaeologist slash
smartass slash horrible murderer that he
is without an equally believed mentor
Sully encountered a teenage Nathan while
working as a freelance thief saving him
from a life on the streets decades later
their friendship continues as they
accompany each other on their adventures
and proved to be invaluable to each
other never a dull moment huh Sully
change now yeah don’t be fooled by his
age he can keep up with as much younger
accomplices and often as a handy bit of
advice delivered with an appropriate
amount of snark he and Nathan were truly
a match made in heaven and their
relationship is an absolute treasure
